I see a number of my United supporting friends are not in favour of signing him. I doubt even united are really interested unless it’s as a last minute desperate buy if they miss out on their other preferred target/s.

As it looks like neither RM nor Barca are interested in him, it wouldn’t surprise me that these leaks (of United wanting him) are being released from our side, to get interest from other clubs on the continent , to come in now, instead of waiting till next summer when he’d be on a free.

We need to sell him for squad space, freeing up cash and wages. Plus not losing one of our players for free in a years time. If we can sell ASAP we have time for a few deals to get over the line to replace him.
All im saying is that its a shitty situation to be in

Eriksen situation is a pain, but it's not like it hasn't been obvious for some time now. Club has to suck it up and make the best plan it can. If it blames failure in this window on the eriksen situation then it is is either naive or full of it.

So Eriksen’s plan all along was to go to a Europa league underperforming United with a rookie manager and a squad nowhere near the quality he’s leaving? I’m not usually one to hate players leaving even those who move on to bigger and better things but I will lose all respect for him if he makes this move.

It depends. I'd rather lose him for nothing to Real Madrid than get a small fee for him from Utd, which are in direct competition with us for top 4 places.

Obivously there's the risk that he goes to Utd for free next summer though I suppose.
For me, right now I would take £60m for him to go to utd, and get BF (assuming we get GLC & RS). If we don't shift him before deadline day and Madrid or Barca come in after for him, that would be terrible, as we would be caught with our pants down on this. The best option is for Utd to get him, otherwise, we lose him and we don't have anyone to step into his place - right now it doesn't look promising for any of the players we are after.

Dont know how much one should read into whats been written about Eriksen sulking and whatnot.
Hes always been a proffesional.

But if he so desperately wants out, he better do a brexit and leave PL. We cant be selling to rivals. Those days should be over. Then i rather him go for nothing next summer. You dont sell your star midfielder to a rival.
I can definitely see why RM and others wont pay 50-60 mill now when he could be signed for free next year.

Eriksen, Rose, Toby....not a good situation with these players. We could end up weaker than going in to the summer. But I hope Levy knows what he doing.

A lot changed in those 42 seconds!

Sums up the reporting of the transfer window to a tee

Yup. What we need is for Ricky Sacks to Tweet it and hold a podcast about all our potentials which we're truly likely to sign off in less than two days.

It's a farce!

But I'm still here, obvs.

Disagree. Despite what some people would have you believe, he's an excellent player and would improve Utd, who we are in direct competition with. Also it sort of sends the message that CL or no CL, Utd are still the bigger club by miles and can have the pick of our players whenever they want.

If he goes to Real Madrid on the other hand, while I would be frustrated at losing him, once he's gone he's gone. Him and Real shitting all over the piss-poor Spanish league is completely irrelevant to us by and large.

I would take 20m if that means he leaves the league.

Ssn have just put all his stats up again. He’s the best play maker in the league in terms of chances created. On top of what I posted yesterday, it’s fucking madness to let him go to Man U.

Continue playing with Kane Son and Moura or Rashford and Lingard in the Europa league?

Hard choice there mate...

You think I haven't made up my own mind about his ability over the 6 years he has been with us? Of course, he's a great player and of course he would improve them too no doubt, but that's a moot point - we can't afford to keep him here one-minute longer right now. So what are the alternatives? Keep him for the year and let the clock run down on a player who doesn't want to be here, or sell him to Madrid or Barca (even if they were interested, which by the way doesn't look like it) after the transfer window (as that looks the most likely if they were interested) and suffer even more as we haven't been able to buy a replacement as we don't have the funds? The only way this gets resolved is if we offload him in the next 46 hours and we get the replacements in.

We are not in a great position right now because of the Eriksen shit show and that is what is holding up us doing anything in the market.

I find the whole saga bizarre. Real Madrid don’t want the best playmaker in the PL even though Eriksen is desperate to join.

And with one year left on his contract, Eriksen is seriously considering going to a team not in the Champions League but is a direct rival to us. And we are seriously considering selling to that rival.

If you’ve gone this far, surely you’d wait until next year to see who offers you a contract on a free? If you’re dream is to play for Real Madrid, you’d reject United. If you’re Spurs, you’re snookered. Every option is bad. If you’re United, you can hardly believe your luck.

Madness to let him go to Utd. He's the premier leagues combined top scoring and assistingg midfielder since 2016. That's not easy to replace!

Who's to say that he wouldn't sign for United when his contract expires? At that point, we would have lost out on a fee and the premier leagues combined top scoring and assisting midfielder since 2016.
