He'd get sh*t on defensively thoughI'd try him at LWB if I was Conte. He's a good touchline player and he could be useful to keep around if he proves he's got some versatility.

Sarr is smaller than Gil?Honestly the main concern is his size but he could bulk up a bit. Sarr is even smaller so expect him to go on loan. I guess the club will give them some dietary and exercise regime to get bigger. I think Gil could be a great alternative to Kulusevski on the right. I also think on occasions where we're pushing for a goal he could play left wing back. His crossing is very good and Richarlison is great in the air while Doherty (possibly Spence) offer a threat at the back post.

Probably similar build , just a bit taller. He looks like a child in this photo thoughSarr is smaller than Gil?

Not really at 19. He'll have stopped growing now but he does need to add some bulk. Same for Gil really but he's 2 years older. I do wonder if in La Liga they don't worry so much about that but it's more important in England. I wonder of the club sets his dietary requirements still when he's on loan.Well, he kind of is.

I gained loads of weight after 19 - about 5 stones and still trying to shift it now!I gained a lot of weight after 19 so if Pape needs any tips, I can help him out. A strict diet of hot dogs and PB&J's should do it. Hold the ketchup on the dogs, of course. Wouldn't want to get carried away.
We've got 5/6 spots in attack leaving one and Sessegnon is injury prone, so keeping Gil around might make sense.I still think he'd be good as a LWB in Conte's system. I think many are quick to say he is too small, would get destroyed defensively, but I watched a good bit of him after his loan and he's a tenacious little shit. I don't think you'd play him against the likes of Liverpool or Man City in the role, but he's got a great delivery on him, is creative and if he had a strong midfield/LCB surrounding him, I really believe he'd be fine. The problem is we simply don't need him there right now, given how many options we have, so it's better to loan him out and continue to let him develop his game.

This is correct.Diasgree, he looked lost on the right, he isn't a cut in inverted forward, he's a get to the byline player.
This is correct.
Another prime feature of Nuno ball was continually playing Gil out of position on the right (and not having him swap wings mid-match) — despite him having put in generally decent shifts on the left at the start of the season.
Parklifemore so that Gordon !! - but Gil has done nothing in English football looking largely lightweight and peripheral figure in games- he has some ability on the ball but its hard to see where he fits a Conte side and if your looking at loans ask yourself as a manager of a bottom half premier league club do you fancy Gil a bit of luxury player unproven in England I can't see who would fancy him so for a loan or a transfer he has to go back to the continent - what's the point of us keeping a player when we aren't going to be playing a nbr 10 or wingers and he is sixth best forward if that - not necessarily a bad player but there is no path for him
Could work well with a right footed LWB. Perisic or Doherty cutting in while Gil got to the byline could add a wrinkle. This is correct.

Great point mate. I’m expecting him to turn some heads in Korea.Could work well with a right footed LWB. Perisic or Doherty cutting in while Gil got to the byline could add a wrinkle.
I’d love to see thatGreat point mate. I’m expecting him to turn some heads in Korea.
Sarr is 6’1”. He’s quite tall for a midfielder.Probably similar build , just a bit taller. He looks like a child in this photo though
There was a lot of talk about Modric being too lightweight for PL as I recall. He turned out ok.I think bulking up is over-emphasised, particularly in the Premier League. The League has changed where it has become more technical. There are players you could consider light-weight who have or are excelling - Bernardo Silva, David Silva, Manuel Lanzini and Ramires are good examples, as well as Phil Foden. Balance, technical ability, refinement of skill, spatial awareness, timing, correction/elimination of mistakes is equally important. The aforementioned players have this and have developed to become successful in this league.
I'm certain we carefully considered Bryan Gil's physique and suitability to the League whilst scouting and eventually signing him. Also, they have certain skills where a larger physique could cause a hindrance - i.e quick bursts of speed, sudden change of movements, agility, fleet-footedness, quick dribbling etc. Neymar is a great example of this - it's his natural physique coupled with his natural ability that allows him to be successful and he has nurtured and developed in this way - changing what has made him successful may not necessarily be better for him. Also, Gil and Sarr are young and they will naturally as part of their development as professional athletes develop their physique
Gil and Sarr certainly do need consistent game-time and to refine some of their raw skills in order to develop to excel and perform consistently.
