I don't think that is true - it requires a share purchase - which had not taken place at the end of the last fiscal year, and I don't think it has been done since Uncle Joe got done in NY.

We also had reports that the option to purchase more shares expired at the end of the year. It wasn't clear if that was the end of the calendar year or the fiscal year - but either way, it had not taken place by the end of either.
I don’t buy this. Forget the funding mechanics - if they want to spend £50m, they can put their hand to £50m.

What the hell happened to all of the plans the club had for when Kane left? We were told they'd been preparing for that to happen for the last couple of years.
We have a plan? 😂

The post Poch years look like the very definition of a club with no plan and making it up as they go along.

This club is a fucking embarrassment!!! NOTHING will change with DL @ the helm!! If I were Ange I’d fuck off now & save myself time & headaches. How are we so skint that we have to rely on loans!!!!!!!! Don’t worry thosugh coz the stadium is gonna be a game changer.

Inclined to agree but something tells me if Brentford were prepared to spend big on him they know what they are doing, unlike us.
And as soon as Levy feels he’s not getting a ‘deal’ he’ll pull the plug.

Having another club involved will start a bidding war and Danny doesn’t do those. I’m not confident it gets done.

Brentford will spend big on him knowing that they will get a bigger fee for Toney in January. We have money I assume in the bank but need to get rid of some players before being able to do it.

I'm sure Brentford have been told by BJs camp to hang in there, but they're his second choice.

If we can't agree a fee he'll end up there.

The problem is we're probably offering way less than Brentford.

What a mess, as usual.

Player could get fed up and just choose Brentford if we're not careful, wouldn't surprise me.

Maddison, VDV, Veliz, Solomon.. That's about £100m spent so far (not loaned). But yeah, we haven't spent anything.. Jeez.

I still come back to the question if you are playing for Nottingham Forest what is the value add in moving to Brentford? On a purely personal basis taking Spurs out of the picture, I think I might as well stay at Forest.

Also whether people want to accept it or not, both Porro and Kulusevski have been signed this season following their “loans”.

With that in mind we have spent:

40 Maddison
35 Porro
35 Van De Ven
25 Kulu
17 Vicario
15 Veliz
3 Phillips

That totals £170m.

We have sold Kane and Winks for a combined £100m.

If we sign Johnson for £45m then that would take our net spend to over £100m which would be in the top ten net spend of teams in all of Europe.

Again, I’m not defending Levy here, but there needs to be a stop to the hyperbole of some posters just because we didn’t sign a player on loan from Barcelona.

If you're going down that road then you accept that levy left us short in previous windows. Btw 170m is standard for where we are as a club despite Kane

Kulu and Porro like most of the players we sign, the transfer fee will be spread over a number of years.
So in Porro and Kulu, this will be the 2nd payment of the transfer fee, so we can't include the full transfer fee into this season expenditure.
