On the plus side, when I was doing a lineup with him and Son behind Kane I totally forgot Dele existed

Hopefully he can start to kick on a bit and make this less of a shame

I think him signing would have really given Poch some headaches.

Not gonna lie I'm struggling to shake off the disappointment of missing out on this, unfortunately I really allowed myself to believe he'd be in a Spurs shirt today after all looked so positive in the morning.

Hopefully we'll put in a good performance on Saturday to help forget about this missed opportunity.

Most likely his agent/advisors, those players are easy targets.

The image company he sold his rights to is owned by his former agent. The legal dispute arose when he switched agents. At least that's what I've pieced together from a few articles. So, I imagine his former agent set up a company to buy the image rights (advising him it was a good idea) and then the relationship went south. When Dybala switched agents, it created a legal issue.

Anyway, here's hoping he doesn't move to PSG or elsewhere and we go back in in January, hopefully with a solution to the image rights figured out.

What annoys me is that we came a fraction away from signing Dybala only to fall short on a technicality however id wager we will never go near him again. In reality we should continue working on it, agree it sometime over the next few weeks etc and the deal can go through on 1st January.

Instead we will never re-appoach Juve again and instead be scrabbling around on deadline day "narrowly missing out" on someone else no doubt. Pisses me off really.
He will probably go to Inter or PSG this summer.

We have to hope neymar dont move and theres an opportunity in jan, if theres an chance of getting the details sorted it might ease the financial burden on juve knowing money is coming in jan. We shouldnt let this die here.

Maybe I'm being dense, but I don't think he has the right to be upset about not getting a move when he must have agreed to the image rights contract. Surely he would know what would make future moves more difficult.

Eh. He didn't want to move in the first place and was being forced out.

Such a damn shame, truly it is! If Dybala doesn't get picked up by PSG in the next 3 weeks, then I would like to think we could do something in January, though it seems the image rights will still be problematic and Juve's finances might have changed by then too.

The underlying message that I take from all of this, is that we are no longer considered the last chance saloon for players and that we have and are showing real ambition to compete. When all is said and done, the fact that he turned down arguably the biggest club in the world and chose us tells all of us that we are a club that is recognised as going places. Well done to Levy and the club for finally showing us the fans and everyone else that we are no longer fucking around and we have real ambition!
Might have a disgruntled player in January.

I ask because my Spurs supporting mate sent me the pic below and said it was def him by Liverpool St station around 445pm today. I thought he was mucking about but he swore it was him and said he 100% saw his face etc.

If true, how fucking close ??
This picture triggers me. Trying to figure out how it is a photoshop, but that is definitely his arm tattoo. All reports had him in Italy training.

Before everyone sucks each other off, please read the words carefully: it says Dybala is furious at "the situation Juventus have put him in". Not furious he's not coming to Spurs. Basically Juve wanted him off their wage bill, then pulled the plug on a viable deal – that's why he's furious. Tenner says he never joins Spurs and is more than happy somewhere else.

Also: "Spurs were desperate not to miss out on a player they have spent three weeks painstakingly working to sign" and "Spurs decided to make their move in the final week of the window" are contradictions.

It’s not. Background talks. How much do u want to earn Paulo etc ?

I just spoke to my mate because I have funny ratings on the pic so thought he’s winding me up and I fell for it.

He swears it was 100% him. He knows his stuff. I asked why he didn’t get a pic with him, he just said he was gobsmacked because he’s been following the news all day and sort of bumped into him.

He genuinely knows his stuff and isn’t a WUM. He’s 100% certain it was him.

Freeki has suggested that arm tattoo isn't unique to Dybala, I believe.

That’s making a move in my book. I assume you’re thinking a “move” only means contacting the club? So three weeks of tapping up basically?

And that takes three weeks does it? And then you give the club a week? Knowing full well about the image rights issues as Utd had already hit that obstacle?

Yeah sounds like it was well plausible.

Listen if we really want this. We can sign a player outside of the window get everythign in place financially, legally and agree the deal. We can even Pay Juve in advance if they need/want cash (risky due to injury though) It’s bullocks that we can’t do anything outside of it. The only thing we can’t do is have his player registration transferred to us and the PL. If we really want to do it and if it achievable it can be done. But I doubt this is what the player really wants if so we would have found a way to do it.

You're spot on. Some outlets are suggesting that even though Juve were pulling the plug, we could've tried harder to get the deal through. But we didn't because we didn't see the desire from the player to leave Juventus (as in he was reluctant to join).

Not sure we'll ever know what really happened behind the scenes or how interested the player was.

Also, not that this confirms it or anything ? but isn’t that a duty free bag he has with him?

Meh, I believe my mate. He’s an encyclopaedia of knowledge when it comes to football. He doesn’t do wind ups. Always a first time I guess but I believe the fucker.
