It is going to be a rather challenging summer for clubs all across the globe as they look to strengthen ahead of the 2021/22 season.
With limited finances coming in over the past 12 months due to the coronavirus pandemic, many are going to have to be rather creative in terms of bringing new players in.

For me, Lamela and Aurier stay put!

Lamela arguably yes based on recent performance. Aurier concerns me because of his temperament. Players storming off at half time can't be good for the dressing room. I think we need a really strong RB option and we need to raise funds. Personally I'd sell both Aurier and Doherty and try and use the funds to get someone in like Reguillon who can help us kick on.

Ah the annual clearing of the dead wood
the Bonfire of the Vanities,
the cleaning of the Aegean stables
as Mr. Johnson might opine.

Forecast for the last ten years
but never quite happens.

I agree about his temperament, and walking out halfway through a match is inexcusable. However, there are suggestions that he's a positive influence with his teammates because of his humour and lightheartedness. I can't remember where I saw it, but a lot of the players seem to see him as the joker in the pack and think he's fun to have around.

That by itself wouldn't be enough to keep him, of course, but he's probably had his best season with us so far; yes, the odd brainfart does still surface, but there are few RBs out there that immediately stand out as an upgrade.

And lloris

I agree.

The problem we have, is (I believe) that all 3 are about to enter the final 12 months of their contracts?.

I am one of the minority that would love for Coco to be given a new contract (I reckon Mourinho feels the same). Though I'm not sure how likely that is to happen.

I believe that Lloris & Aurier both fancy a return to France, PSG being their most likely destinations, in my opinion.

No idea how any of the above is going to pan out. But I think it's clear to see there's some major work needing to be done behind the scenes. Whether it's all possible under the current financial climate remains to be seen.

Aurier played for Spurs 2 days after his brother was murdered.

I’d say the odd storm down the tunnel is perfectly acceptable.

Vintage Aurier maybe, but it looks like he's come a long way under JM... but let's hope Sergio stays!

If we're assuming Tanganga is a CB i'm wondering if Lavinier could step up into a back up role at RB and we could bring Lucas from R Madrid to play that role

I couldn't give a toss about him storming off down the tunnel as long as he plays consistently well, but........?

I'd be happy for Lloris to stay another year, even if it means he leaves on a free next year. He's given us nine years (ten by next summer) of loyal and, for the most part, excellent service. He can help any new number 1 bed in at Spurs - be the mentor and then if after that, he wants to move, he can. If he wants to stay after that, we can always give him another contract to be the elder statesman of the goalkeeping crew.

Let's be fair - Serge Aurier isn't the only Spurs player afflicted with the curse of inconsistency... On a comparative scale, he's been one of the better performers under JM making him the no-brainer choice for RB under the current setup.

Oh don't get me wrong mate. I absolutely agree. I was just trying to look at it from the club/player perspective.

I don't disagree, but we could really do with a better quality RB.

I know we need to move a few players on and we all have our own ideas who they should be but trying to sell them is another thing. We don't have a great recorded of off loading players in the past, either Levy asks more than they are worth or nobody is interested. So I don't expect more than a couple if any going unless we release them and that is not going to happen. So it could be the same squad next season as this unless of course Levy decides to sell Kane for 150 mil plus and buy 2 or 3 top quality players. I would rather stick with what we have than that to happen as Kane has been the only thing I have found entertaining with our season so far, with his goals and assists.
