Can we do a loan? Thought we already have two as Romero and Deki are still on loan
Romero will be finalised before the deadline surely, it was only a year loan wasn’t it? Whereas Deki was 2 years I think

I guarantee he doesnt
What do you think he see's it as then?

Kulu / Kane / Son is a given I think. And Richarlison is competition for Kane and Son. Why is Conte interested in Zaniolo then? Interested to hear how you can guarantee Conte does not see that.

First off, I hope Zaniolo does get sold because Inter owns a 15% sell-on fee. Would be a small win after a dismal transfer window so far... (and perhaps you'll then stop trying to take our Italian players...)

But Zaniolo is one of the dumbest, most selfish players in Serie A. He constantly dives and looks for the foul. When he doesn't get the call, he gets frustrated and gets himself booked shortly after. Again, he has more yellow & red cards than goalscoring contributions in Serie A. He's already been called out by outside managers like Fabio Capello and Roberto Mancini for being selfish and not playing with others (even dropped from Italy national team).

This perfectly encapsulates who Zaniolo is as a player:

Instead of passing, he tried to cut inside and beat Koulibaly. Rinse and repeat the entire season - he seemed allergic to passing. It's actually amazing that Roma played good football last year (3rd highest xG behind Inter and Atalanta) because Zaniolo was a black hole in the offensive phase. Players like Pellegrini & Abraham grew visibly frustrated with Zaniolo because he tries to take on defenders by himself and refuses to pass.

He can be a bit selfish but judging a player based on one bad decision is utterly pointless.

The guy has tons of ability, pre ACL he was the next Totti, there’s a chance that a fresh start under Conte he could unlock that.

Most players don’t do what they’re told/should under Jose ?

If it’s only a loan with an option to buy, then it’s an absolute no brainer.

Even better if it helps us shift Ndombele.

A Zaniolo and Ndombele loan swap suits everyone involved tbh.

If it is a loan with an option to buy combined with getting rid of Tanguay Then how could this go wrong. AC Gets the chance to coach him to see if he is coachable and if not he gets rid of him

Not if this guy can’t stay fit and importantly isn’t that great.
Getting ndombele off the wage bill would be great for starters.

Admittedly the consensus seems to be that zaniolo has limited attributes but as others have pointed out conte clearly likes him as he's been keen before. Plus players levels are elevated in the conte system with his automations etc. Seems low risk to me. Also throwing in the kulu transformation feels a tad lazy but also an important precedent

Some of the comments about this guy smack of the 'he's not a mega expensive player that we can spunk £100m on, therefore he's shit and I don't want him", much like a lot of the comments on Lenglet!

If it's a loan with option does that mean we could still be in for another AM? or is that just wishful thinking?

Him and Richy combined will probably be enough for us not to target a ST. Both have played there in the past, and both are pretty physical.

Looking at his WhoScored, there are some obvious concerns, but definitely some characteristics that seem to fit Conte's philosophy.
- Draws fouls
- Commits Fouls
- Great on the counter
- Physical
- Kind of a dick lol

Always seemed like the Italian Dele to me, but will support him if Conte wants.

I am guessing it’s as much to do with you having Son and Deki swapped on the wrong side.

Zaniolo can play in the midfield and attacking midfield

Not at all. You seem to be the one on the wind up. How can you guarantee that Conte does not see his front three as I suggested? Or are you in this thread just to pretend you know stuff without sharing your thoughts?
