Just like why was Jose sacked before a cup final (since he just publicly spoke out ytd)… I’m damn curious as to how this sudden turn of events could have happened with Slot

By all accounts, he was happy to come, and we were confident… what did he demand that we couldn’t give OR what did we offer that turned him off so quickly and completely?

He wanted to bring his entire backroom staff? And kokcu? He didn’t want Mason on his team? Kane will be sold? He was told who is going to be the new DOF?

So many questions unanswered and it’s so blardy frustrating!

Rodgers is partly responsible for Leicester's plight.

He started falling out with the squad after the Forest game in the FA Cup last year.

He should have walked away because he was clearly just waiting to pick up his severance package yet he completely ran out of ideas - which he always does.

Also, once he gets his fins right into a club's recruitment he totally messes it up.

Data analysts warned against signing players like Vestergaard because they showed he'd struggle in his system.

Rodgers went around them - and I think they may have quit too? He also benched Soncku and Leicester fans say he was their best defender.

He spent the last 8 or so months of his tenure doing absolutely nothing to arrest the slide.

Maybe he'll get us clicking for a year but give it time and people will start to turn on him and it'll be a spectacular fall off like weve just seen with Conte.

Amorim would have much more longevity

Rodgers didn't see eye to eye with Edwards at Liverpool either.

If we're at stage Rodgers... We've massively fucked up somewhere.

Indeed. Maybe Slot felt that Spurs did not really want him, if we just walked away when learning that we would have to pay an extra 10m or so?

Not aimed direct at you but getting fed up with this.
He has a fucking name.
It has been mentioned enough times.
It is Ange Postecoglou.
If that's too hard you can shorten it to just Ange.
It is just getting a bit disrespectful.

“By all accounts” is the important bit. If you’re believing what the papers said, taking it all in as fact, then you’re setting yourself up to be disappointed.

Nagelsmann.

Go and have a grown up conversation with him, tell him the club needs a lift, needs some character, needs better football, tell him your fears about wasting more money on shite players, tell him some stability is needed, tell him you trust his judgement on a DOF, ask him to help us build something... create some harmony throughout the club, not a fucking soap opera..

What we don't want Tottenham, is to keep doing the same thing, again, and again...
Go put your big boy pants on Daniel COYS, your time is now or your time is up.

But it is still extremely baffling isn't it? Even our itks have been saying Slot was top of the list and looking very promising etc.

How does it go from that to a complete 360 with Slot coming out himself saying he's now staying with Feyenoord?

It's such a drastic change in such a short space of time, something must have happened Wednesday for the sudden U-turn.

Any other team you can speculate and never really know the true reason, but we know how Levy operates and can't seem to give up any control or assurances when asked for, so if I was a betting man, i'd bet the complete overnight breakdown in talks is 100% Levy's fault.

I said sunday on here we need to get this sorted ASAP with Slot to avoid losing out on another 1st/2nd target otherwise we'd end up how we were in 2021 where we ended up with our 5/6th choice due to all the fucking about, but I genuinely thought it wouldnt come to that as Slot looked nailed on and we'd had positive ITK aswell.

We are now in the 5/6/7th choice territory I feel. The way we conduct business is so shit and so public all the fucking time even the better managers in the "Lesser leagues" like Holland and Portugal and Scotland can't be arsed with Levys audition game and general shitshow.

Sigh..

I think this is the only way levy gets away with it for the time being.

Where has all this Rodgers stuff come from? The man is a total arse and just got Leicester relegated (probably). He is a shit manager with a shit personality and a huge ego. If he comes in I'm done.

This is literally what Levy needs to do, but I just can't see it happening. The hierarchy have somehow already burnt bridges with the baffling statement on how we never spoke to him and how he wasn't in our plans etc, it'd probably take some grovelling now to convince JN to sign.

It seems like when we are looking for a new manager, no ones actually LOOKING for a new manager, it's almost like we advertise the vacant role like its a normal everyday job and then interview like it aswell. "So, XYZ, how do you think your managerial skills will take the club forward and inline with the future structure of Tottenham?" (XYZ) "What is your idea of the future structure of the club?" (Levy) "That's not what I asked."

You can't go about getting a football manager like you would a regular job, I know managers aren't snowflakes but they need to be wanted to a certain degree, Brighton and De Zerbi is a fantastic example, read yesterday he was the first and only manager they interviewed, they obviously did their homework, liked him and interviewed him, he was super knowledgeable on Brighton and explained his vision and it was a done deal.

Not a chance that would happen under Levy, I bet Slot could have done exactly the same and Levy would then speak to the other 2 or 3 or 4 on the list.

Think I remember seeing Donna Cullen was pushing for him?

It feels like we are morphing into Newcastle a bit - unfortunately the Ashley era one though.

I wanted Conte to stay right up to the second he left because I had absolutely 0 faith in the club to get it right and they've fucked it
