I honestly feel like the Big Ange supporters either don’t realise how poor the Scottish League really is or they have a soft spot for Celtic. I fell into that trap with Gerrard when he was at Rangers. Yes Celtic won the league pretty easily, but Rangers are a really poor side needing a total rebuild and the rest of the league is total dross. I think Ange would be a total disaster appointment.

So they didn’t want Poch back, didn’t want to interview Nagelsmann further and can’t attract a manager in Slot from the Dutch league.

This is worse than the search of 2021 because of the quality of candidate available. It must be utter chaos behind the scenes. They’re going to fuck it up well and truly. Is anyone really surprised?
Hard to disagree with this. I was very happy with Slot - and actively looking forward to next year.

But this is really, really bad. I mean 'worse than Nuno' bad. Honestly, The Board should go. Levy should go. They are very clearly incompetent.

Considering WLB said Slot and Amorim were the leading candidates I’m expecting/hoping we now start getting noise about Amorim being in ‘pole position’ for the job.

I know some of you can’t shake the fact he plays wing backs but personally I think he has just as many credentials to be our manager as Slot did.

It's the hope that kills you.

And I should know better by now - this is just how it is being a Spurs fan.

Forget Audere Est Facere. Our motto should just be "Perpetual Disappointment".

Honestly, since my first game in 1991 First Division when I was 6 years told, to now, I've never cared less about the club. People at the top don't seem to give a shit either.

This has a late summer Rodgers appointment written all over it.

It’s not yet as bleak as 2021 but we are certainly now onto the b list of candidates. Genuinely gutted to hear Slot will not be coming and as already noted we should have known the price to get him months ago. Can only hope the potential pleasant surprise Herc mentioned is a good one as it all feels rather rudderless at the moment

Keep watching. Nothing is over and out. Smokescreen possibly going on. Sorry I cannot be more specific. But it could work out to be a very pleasant surprise. Not Poch surprise.
Is this coming to light now? Not ask you Herc just mean for everyone else in here.

We managed to get a guy who said 'If I'm still managing in Holland in 2 years, it's been a failure', to actually sign a new contract in Holland.

Our crack team of negotiators know how to operate.

Whilst it is true the Scottish League is rubbish, I think something people need to realise is this: Ange or slot can be very good despite managing in a lesser league. Their ability is not lessened by the lack of competition, so whilst it is possible they only look good because their league is rubbish, they could also just be very good managers whose approach would nicely fit into our team.

We shouldn't take names off the table because they manage in lesser leagues IMO.

Sorry but to me, we have been played.

I doubt the club had any idea that Slot was also negotiating an extension.

Everything being reported was Slot was negotiating an exit and his move to Spurs was imminent.

It is possible that Spurs baulked at the compensation fee and the fee quoted for kokcu and Slot didn’t feel like he was going to get backed by us.

Either way, this is a huge blow as Slot was perfect for us and now we look stupid and clueless.

''We've never even heard of Arne Slot, what even is a Feyenoord? That being said, we definitely rejected him before he rejected us''
