I think Levy can't guarantee it - more so than he "won't" guarantee it.

I suspect Levy is very limited in what he can guarantee in terms of transfer budget, and players who will be available.

Then ENIC need to sell. Cant have the best stadium in Europe and the highest ticket prices to show a clown event each season.

The cow has been fattened, sell the club to some who can cook or at least wants to put some degree of investment. I mean what is Joe waiting for, he is in his 80’s and will make billions off it.

It seems Joe doesn’t want to spend and Daniel doesn’t want to delegate. Between them we are going in circles.

Also been thinking about this.

Poch was a done deal to Chelsea last week, gone a bit quiet this week.

maybe things going on behind the scenes, who knows.

(Poch will probably sign for Chelsea tomorrow now 🙄)

I do find it odd that one manager who kind of got used to having absolutely nothing, did a great job and is loved by I would say most fans isn’t on the list. The Poch break up must have been bad.

I dear not say anything. What a disaster. Mr D Levy, would go to the barbers for a haircut, then realise he has no hair. He wanted Nagelsmann, thought he could kid. Óops convince him to trust his way of doing things. Promises but no commitment. The remit is we have good posy (players) we have spent a lot of money on. Surely they can get a tune out of them. Oh, btw we will discuss a budget after you sign with us. This is what we are faced with. Now let’s find a manager who I can work with. Names please? Honestly, this is what we are up against.
I actually have no confidence in Levy getting this next appointment right. Why is he not held accountable for the farce that follows us around season after season. Prime Ministers, CEO's directors and managers all lose their jobs when they do not deliver so why oh why has Levy remained for so long making the same mistakes.

Because he is increasing value in the company well and that is all Joe Lewis seems to care about.

Anyone else surprised Luis Enrique is still on the list with the others?

Seems the oddball out of the candidates in that he is very tactically inflexible AND so little of our squad is equipped to play his style

Seems like Conte 2.0 in that it would take huge investment to fully get his system running

Ive watched a lot of Enrique....he's very flexible tactically. The main issue is that irrespective of formation, he favours high technical ability, which we have very few players of that level imo.

Thing is, in response to some earlier posts, football IS a crutch to some people, the joy of watching great entertainment, of a kind of other family, a dream, hope of success. An escape from the reality of difficult lives, escape from loss. Not a thing to be underestimated in it’s important..

If you can't be in it for the emotions, then there is truly no point in following a club. Might as well just watch Man city win every game on tv.

Because unfortunately in Joe Lewis eyes as long as they keep making lots of money and growing the value of the club like they have done he is doing his job. As sad as it is thats what our club is a money printing machine for an old tax exile.

Of course invest your motions in supporting the team. But all the speculation and noise around it, nah. Half of it is just BS and I really don't see the point in getting so wound up by stuff that is either completely made up or unlikely to actually happen.

This. You'll waste your energy getting wound up and that may seep into your personal lives and relationships with others. I speak from experience, it isn't worth it.

I think we should all get ready to just enjoy our summers with our families, safe in the knowledge that nothing is gonna change at the club and all this doesn't really matter.

Something very big could change.

We're a few more bad decisions away from making relegation a possibility in the next 1-2 years.

The team's individual and collective confidence has been increasingly fragile now under 5 coaches.

Key players are declining and we have no leaders.

Take Kane out of this team, and have another Nuno / Stellini debacle, and suddenly what would seem absurd becomes possible.

Isnt that the problem. A very good manager but not one suited to the shambles of Spurs.

ideally we need a manager who can work with anyone as our squad is a bit Square pegs round holes. I mean Nagelsmann with Rangnick to me seem the ideal to fix the strategic mess at the club but would Levy sanction it?

I agree.
Given that transfers can be structured in so many different ways, it would very difficult to construct a meaningful contractual obligation to cover all possibilities.

Same scenario we've seen play out ever since the last days of Poch. Levy's delusion that all we need is a manager who'll get the best out of all these wonderful players he's bought and who've been underperforming for years.

Doesn't matter who Levy appoints. No one can succeed with this approach.

Oh and just to top it off I wouldn't rule Mason out as full time boss. I can't see another top manager wanting to have to reintegrate the cast off's and the need to sell before we buy bullshit. Also all those that have been shouting about how much we've spent over the last few years including the likes of Kulu and Porro, don't be surprised now if all those that we've signed but not yet completed on, are taken out of any upcoming budget.

fuck me, what an absolute shit show!

I'm a happily married heterosexual male but Alonso is a good looking chap. Has he always been so suave?:)

*edit - I suppose it would been hard to look suave in a Liverpool kit.
My wife would like Xabi hired - that is all
