Just watched the Ally Gold video. Either he still lurks here or opinions from this place spill out to other media outlets, but he referenced Gallardo and basically suggested it’s unlikely

It's such a big overhaul required, someone needs to come in and be brave.
Lloris, Dier, Davies, Sanchez, Tanganga, have been inconsistent for too long and would equal a defensive revamp.

Not watched it yet. Does he offer an opinion on whether Conte is going to get a bullet?

You’ve missed the mark entirely. All managers would want them upgraded, but one shiny header prick doesn’t play ball.

It’s still Amorim or Gallardo for me.

I have my doubts that Levy and those around him will even know of Gallardo tbh and I think press links are built on click bait found on forums like this but I’m happy to be proven wrong.

I’ve read and watched a lot about both now and the thing that strikes me about both is one of their key skills appears to be being able to work with what they have even when they lose a key player, I.E when their club sells them. Due to that I think they are well placed to lead a rebuild after a major clearing of the decks.

Amorim has CL and EL experience, Gallardo libetadores etc.

Just everything I have read and seen has them strike me as the two outstanding candidates.

I know absolutely nothing of Gallardo but is this another Bielsa?

Thought I’d also just post an article I read on Amorim which explains his tactics. I feel like you can genuinely see where in parts it would really suit some of our players, and also where we likely need improvements player wise.

Tbf Romano did report that we had spoken to Gallardo before we appointed Nuno but he didn’t think it was the right time to leave River Plate. So it seems Paratici is definitely aware of him.

There are some great options around that will support our style - Amorim (unlikely due to release clause), Alonso, Poch (can he replicate?), Conceicao, etc. but I like Gallardo (unlikely apparently) and Postecoglou.

Here's a couple of Ange videos that I found interesting:

Might well be the case but I’m not sure Gold would know much in this regard, at least no more than others I’d think. I really get the feeling the club is completely at sea atm.

Not really, just says that ‘it’ll be fascinating what happens over the coming days. He did suggest that the whole club have had the day off today so that is maybe why we haven’t heard anything.

Tbh I’m not really sure exactly what you’re asking?

Gallardo is an exceptional manager tho who has had an incredibly successful career thus far whilst also playing excellent attacking football. He’s been voted South American manager of the year three times and has won 15 competitions at two clubs including the SA version of the CL all whilst having his River team systematically picked clean of all their top talent. He’s a very astute man who has overseen many rebuilds at River. There has been a lot of in depth tactical discussions about him and why he should be our top choice over the previous pages.

Would be remarkably surprised if it's Gallardo - seems to be more fans hope than anything else.

Shortlist seems to be Ange, de Zerbi, Amorim and Poch. Happy with any of them. Just as long as they don't make me sit through shite football and then belittle the club I love afterward.

I honestly think Mason should get the job until the end of the season. I really think he would do a great job. And if Poch comes back he would love to work with him.

Soooooo……..extremelllllly….slooooooooooooooooooooowly

Although there are a fair few that need to leave in the summer. We still have a good core of players to build around.

It's not like we need to buy a full squad.

Think Levy is so simple-minded when it comes to football that he'll look at De Zerbi as the 'New Poch' of the league.

And since that appointment worked last time, he'll think it'll work again.
Maybe I, too, am simple-minded, but wouldn't the rationale of that last sentence suggest the best candidate to be Mauricio Pochettino?
