"Geographically it is a solution. It is a very sensitive subject but I don't think it will happen," - Arsene Wenger on Groundshare at Emirates.

What do you lot think? Aye, Nay?
Only if they would remove their signage and paint the seats blue to fulfill @Blake Griffin's dream of our playing in a Blue Emirates.

"tbh we dont care about the fans, PERIOD"

All in all, I think they are simply greedy, which can be simply reflected by their attitude. I don't think they are spurs fans after all, at least not very passionate after all. I think it is morally wrong to abuse them, as they do have their right to challenge CPO legally. However, if the ITK from hertyid above is right, they are just simply greedy, or put their own interest above us and the local community. Don't get me wrong, I think they have their right to do so. But it is quite disgusting that they pretend they are not greedy, or accuse spurs fans that we know nothing.

I hate people saying they are doing justice while they are really not.

He's ex-Eversheds so he's fairly big time. He also acted FOR the Council for Arsenal's development.

He might just be an Arsenal fan himself? But who knows - lot of big dog partners at my gaff seem to have Arsenal connections and I'm yet to understand why. :(

I should say that letter was written before the CPO was granted. But just to get a flavour of what the Council is up against

It's not a very good letter, for a number of reasons, and I'm not surprised that the CPO was upheld if this is the standard of counter-argument. It's too late in the evening to go into detail, but there are some highly tenuous and un-evidenced arguments being deployed that form key parts of the argument.

Why would Archway bankrupt themselves on a hopeless cause?

Who stands to gain most from the delay or curtailment of the stadium build project?

MEANS, MOTIVE, and opportunity - you can smell the Russian stench a mile off

American satellite photos of the area have revealed Russian armoured divisions massing outside Chick King...

...a number of the points raised were discussed in the Pickles review. Anyway, Winter needs to zip himself up because his cock is still dribbbling down his fricken trouser leg.

Its Archway versus the Council not THFC. At the end of the day, they can take the CPO where ever they want, but they will lose, because the idea of a small factory holding up a major redevelopment clearly designed for the public good beggars belief.

So lets just flip this one on its head. Lets just say that the High Court finds against them and they take the Human Rights option through the European justice system. Are we saying that a government scheme meant to regenerate an area with high unemployment, bearing all the systemic characteristics of low socio economic issues that bedevil areas spiraling into poverty and decay, is going to be overturned because of a fucking factory that makes kebab grill machines?

Holy Mary, its fucking democracy gone mad to the point that a small entity can bring regeneration plans for an area that has seen rioting, street violence and degradation to a fricken' screaming halt! No wonder the world is fucked...and I am a lawyer myself so I've dined out on these sorts of issues before, but never to the point where these ***** have taken it.

Twitter convo from Katrina Law (Secretary of the THST)

@THSTOfficial @Katspur71 I think most Spurs fans just want to know what Archway is worth, what Spurs have offered and what they want!

Kat ‏@Katspur71 1h
@nicktheyid61 @THSTOfficial It's valued at under £2m and they want £25m. The
CPO process ensures they will receive a fair price.

@Katspur71 @THSTOfficial thanks Kat! do you know what the best offer Spurs made to them amounted to?

@nicktheyid61 @Katspur71 Well in excess of the valuation. This has been ongoing for the best part of a decade. The Club have been reasonable

Well this utterly shits all over the ENIC conspiracy theory people, and a few certain fans who claimed to have insider knowledge and have in the past suggested that they hadn't been offered a fair deal.

£25m for a kebab-oven making business that employs a small handful of people. The absolute greedy fucks.

I know someone close to me whose family runs a similar business in that it's a relatively small-scale family run engineering firm, but bigger than Archway and with more valuable assets. It's being sold for a little over £2m, and these greedy fucks want £25m for a smaller, shitter company in a hell-hole area.

Wankers.

I have been in the studio for the last 14 hours and had about 20 hours sleep for the week but if I'm reading it right, it is little wonder they got rejected.

I did sustainability and law for my masters and they have taken the literal definition of it and not the actual meaning behind it. If I read it right that is because they shouldn't compare the emirates build as its a older build before sustainability was set in stone iirc.

hertyid posted this over on coys, unsure if itk, or opinion, perhaps a bit of both:
The move away thing is a bargaining chip because local council would not want us away for even one game.
Won't happen. We will win this in court and stadium build will go ahead as planned.
Not if he posts shit like that on the internet:whistle:
Sharing an athletics stadium with West Ham now looking like the least bad option??

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, The olympic stadium has been a fucking joke and is getting alot of public money going in to it(thanks to boris). They need tenants after pretty much giving west ham a rent free stadium
Twitter convo from Katrina Law (Secretary of the THST)

I would imagine that she would have good knowledge of the history of this story.

@Katspur71 @nicktheyid61 @THSTOfficial I feel sorry for the other small businesses who will lose rely on matchday revenue because of archway

@robMDK @Katspur71 @nicktheyid61 @THSTOfficial I was just reading this. They have got to be funded by someone they can't afford legal costs

I would feel no qualms about us bankrupting them were this to be true. Being greedy and halting a injection of more money in to the local at the expense of the people living there(they don't fucking live there), is just wrong. Had we rotated the design of the stadium and gone south or West, they would of been sold a long time ago

Lets go all chinese spite house on them

Knock it down when the CPO is confirmed, if it doesnt, just do this

I think the gist is that the scheme isn't as good as it could be; and that there are more viable schemes leaving Archway alone.

Not being one to dismiss your academic achievement, but this guy was a former Planning partner at a top 50 law firm, so he knows what he's doing.

The emotive language at the very end is a bit over the top, saying that the scheme is simply for the benefit of a successful football club and its wealthy owners.

I think comparing the effect of the Emirates in Islington/Highbury vs the effect of Tottenham in Haringey is a pointless comparison that serves no real argument.

Anyway, it'll be interesting/terrifying to see how this plays out.

They're not actually being greedy. If I was in their shoes I would do exactly the same thing. Business is business.

Why shouldn't they ask for £25m, or whatever the actual amount is? They are after all a business, and not a charity. I would do exactly the same as them were I in their position. And I've a feeling I wouldn't be the only one. Anyone who doesn't is a fool imo.
The law allows them to appeal a CPO, and they are. If the builders were outside, trowels at the ready, I believe Levy would have settled with them.

Their arguments are irrelevant, same for their huge compesation claim, the CPO has been granted which is official sanction that their arguments are not valid, the appeal has to be that Pickles didn't do his job properly, he did and thats the important point.
This is also why there is no case for a trip to the European court of human rights and because this does infringe his human rights, officially it does that, but it does it because his position infringes the human rights of more people in the local area, to have a better community and raised life expectations.
