If the electricity is turned off it isn't the electrics it's just wiring and stuff.
I'm more bemused by the fact that the grass hasn't been laid yet, perhaps they've decided another couple of weeks growth might be beneficial but I'll be much happier when it's done.

Don't think we will see the grass until more of the stadium is done and we will be getting ready to play on it.

Isn't it Al on the rollers at the training facility anyway? Would rather it is kept there and decent than moved to a building site and could get in a mess.

Chris cowlin refuted this earlier. It did happen but apparently it is old news and been dealt with. Staff member wanting to make a quick buck.

I heard about it last week, if not the week before. Just with the delays I think it's slowly started to hit the papers now

I don't know what rollers are but I'd hope it was properly laid on the ground at the traing ground growing.

It isn't such a big difference with turf as it is with a seeded sward, but the best time of year to establish a new lawn or a pitch is September. It's certainly easier in this kind of weather than in 32ºC, with weeks of no rain and blazing sun.

That's why I was wondering if, with the stadium delay, they've decided to delay the pitch laying it a bit longer, if it helps why not make use of it kind of thing.

Brentford want to open their new stadium December 2019 and nothing seems to have been said about them not being able to move in for half a season. If it is just the wiring then I seriously doubt it will take that long to fix when you consider how quickly the rest of the build has taken.

I don't know anything about construction but if you look at the difference 12 months has made I honestly can't see anything else taking more than 2-3 months now. Just seems that way to the naked eye
I don't think anyone would complain if we were a mid-table team.
But we have been taking £60m off the tradition sky 4 sides by continually pushing them to 5th and 6th place. If they think they can further unsettle us/interfere with our transfer budget by delaying us moving in for another 6 months, then they will.

Of course any complaint will be spurious - the pitch will be the same size, the stadium a similar size - there is nothing anyone can point to, to say we have an advantage either way.
But if 5 of the top clubs complain, then the prem league could cave in.

Actually ManCity have genuine cause for complaint if they are made to play their fixture with us on a muddy field. None of the other sides will have to put up with that. But forcing us to stay at Wembley does not help them as the pitch will be relaid the day after that fixture.

The thing about the pitch is that it's the same for both teams. No cause for complaint there.

It will be a leveller, and city could claim if they played us on a normal surface, they'd have had a better chance.
But I don't think this fixture has been decided yet.

And what would they claim is a 'normal surface'?

All teams will have different length grass, water it different amounts ect.
As long as the pitch isnt a danger to players then there is nothing the FA/PL can do unless they want to come down and sort the pitch themselves.

Man City game still the target then. Quite like the idea of a Monday night game to kick off the opening of the stadium. Club can invest in some nice fireworks as a tribute to the riots which kicked off the whole stadium development!

Exterior appearance of stadium irrelevant to us playing a home game there. This is fact. Club is still very much working on basis that Man City is our first home game. This is also fact. Turf will be ready (growing offsite as we speak). This is fact. Seats can be fitted in entire stadium from scratch in 11 days. This is also fact.

Everything else is conjecture.

Looking at the outside I don't think it looks as much of a building site now. Sure theres areas the public cant go in because of hazards but they can be fenced off easily enough. Its definitely improved around the south stand anyway. Although they'd have to re-position one of the cranes as its directly in front of the main stairs going up there.

god I remember the pitch at our last visit to Upton Park, and for a PL pitch I thought we was playing the old Wimbledon
