Will be interesting to see the assessment of these guys come the end of the season.. I would say Eriksen and Chadli are considered successes especially when you consider how cheap they were so lets give Baldini some credit for that... If the teams performance continues to improve I would expect us to see some of the others show what they are capable of also..

Ins Summer 2013

Eriksen has always been the best of the bunch can be a top top player.

Chadli our most improved player in my view even more so than Kane.

Lamela has been improving but probably next season before we see his best so lets be patient..

Soldado want to see how he does in a team playing well and making chances.

Capoue if he can increase his movement and energy would definitely have a future with us,

Paulinho looked good in recent weeks when he has come on as sub now looks fit can be a useful impact player.

Chiriches if he can just cut out the lack of concentration and odd sloppy balls we have a good player on our hands.

Ins Summer 2014

Davies good competition for Rose I think they are both neck and neck and can push each other to get better.

Dier young player has done ok so far will be great for us in the future.

Stambouli another one who is improving and happy with him so far.

Fazio complements Vertonghen really well odd mistake but doing a good job..

You also have to remember that none of those players have spent any more than 5 months or so under any single management setup or playing philosophy since they've been at the club. You did miss Vorm off the list, though.

I personally don't really care too much about the individual transfers; as far as I see it:

- we have forgotten about left back being a problem = success.
- we have stopped making stupid mistakes and own goals, seemingly since we have been without Dawson/Kaboul (not wanting to slate the individuals, especially Daws, but that seems to be a link)
- the squad look happy at the moment

We're in a good place to strengthen with a winger and a forward, in my opinion.

For me it was never a case of the individuals being poor players. It's a question of how to build a team and buying 7 players at once is going to be difficult for any manager to handle effectively.

We bought 7 internationals, all of whom had performed well elsewhere, they clearly weren't crap players. Good to see some of them now performing well for us.

Good point. No more tying laces.

It has been clear to anyone with a brain that the players we have brought in under Baldini's tenure as DoF have all been good players. The question has always been would they get the time to settle and more importantly could they step up to the different pace of the PL.

It's mainly the big money spent on paulinho soldado and lamela I have an issue with the rest are the type of signings that we sould be making

Nah, not really. We are still conceding very silly goals. Every goal conceded yesterday for instance could have been easily avoided

And that is the multi-million dollar question. Unfortunately the 3 most expensive haven't.

if you're looking at it in terms of profit and loss then only eriksen and chadli will have increased in value. capoue and chiriches around the same, lamela and paulinho down, soldado massively down.

Which is something I totally disagree with.

Lamela is young and still learning his game, yet has got several goals and assists this season.

Soldado has got a couple of goals but hasn't been given a prolonged run. Everytime he has played though he has worked for the team and has been vital to our attacking play.

Paulinho has barely player so judging him is totally unfair.

There's a difference between conceding goals that we could avoid and last season though.

Last season we were scoring and setting up goals for sides that had no other shots on target!

Compare last night's goals to last season's....

So you've picked out the most extreme example...

Fazio dribbling the ball straight into the opposition when he was virtually last man was pretty much as bad. The other two goals were also bad defending. There is a definitely a hell of a lot of improvement that the defence could make.

Spurs fans in sensationalist reactionary opinion shocker!

Who would have thought people would write of some players without allowing for a bit of patience or understanding the circumstances....

Sorry to be a pedant mate but that is simply not true. Sometimes when he plays he works hard and sometimes when he plays he is vital to attacking play - Sometimes when he plays his inability to score simple chances has cost us points too.

Hopefully, for his sake, I hope Lamela was watching the game intently yesterday and was taking notes on how not to clog up Eriksen in the middle of the pitch.

He may be young but he has had a lot of top flight football and should be better at following instructions then he has been during the first half of the season.

Lamela hasn't lived up the the price tag yet.

But he has the potential to play like a 25 million pound player (not that price tag should be our primary concern) consistently.

Lets hope he also gets given a bit of patience to build on his recent improvements.

..

I don't think any of the chances we created yesterday would have been finished by Soldado. Kane made his own chances, and Chadli was doing his arriving late from midfield trick. No fox in the box stuff.

Moving Eriksen into the middle has certainly helped. He just looks far more at ease in that role. Chadli too is really starting to shine. He makes such good runs. And Kane is just freaking awesome.

I thought we got more crosses in just watching the game again :)
