Maybe he'll prove me wrong with a youthful, energetic squad at Chelsea and the reason he changed so much towards the end at Spurs and PSG was because he simply no longer had the personnel to implement his old ideas. However I get the feeling Fergie apparently telling him "you need to constantly innovate and mix things up every season" actually hurt him more than it helped him as I don't think the new ideas were, frankly, half as good as the old ones.

the thing that interests me about Chelsea is that they kind of do have the dream Poch profile at a lot of positions (still need a striker and a creative midfielder). He has young legs for days and can rotate pacy, dynamic pressing demons in and out of the side. Their full backs are awesome. Enzo is made for him. He loves a young energetic ball of clay he can mold.

and yet even with all of this promise… I’m wondering whether 2015-2016 Pochettino tactics (even with a good squad) dropped into today’s game would be anywhere near as effective as people think. I’m actually not so sure.

the tactical level in the PL has raised SOOOOOOO much since 2015-17. Go look at the managers we were competing with back then and then look at someone like 2023 De Zerbi or Unai Emery

Lets not forget - he was also a young manager at the time, so he was always going to make mistakes. Some questions are valid on whether he has grown enough from that period - id say there is more chance of him correcting those than say Slot/Kompany, perhaps not Nagelsmann.

Now im not biased here, I wanted him back and its annoying we havent considered him but I accept that and if he goes to Chelsea then it will be our loss in my view. I want him to fail because it is Chelsea but he is free to join whoever, I mean after all we sacked him and when we are looking for another Poch, we are going for a Poch 2.0 rather than the original version - so he is entitled to do as he wishes as soon as that happened.

Was he perfect? no, but to be honest, not one manager out there is perfect... you think anyone we bring in wont make mistakes? they all do.. you think if we bring in Nagelsmann, he wont bend over for Real Madrid? or if we bring in a Kompany, he wont fuck off to Man City in two years?

I think this is pretty apt. Just because we didn’t win anything doesn’t make his time a failure.

Absolute winner. I will always love Poch for his time with us but fuck do I want him to do well at Chelsea. I hope they continue to lose every game possible and not score any goals.

This guy is such a class act. Absolutely awesome to see someone that’s such a star and so talented be so grounded and humble. There are role models that don’t deserve that title but he deserves to be looked up to 100%

And Kulu posted this in his IG story as well. OT but he seems to have alot he's holding back and it shows in his game this season. Hope he can clear his mind after this season.
