But as I addressed in another post what does committing to Conte mean? He never stays anywhere longer than two seasons other than a 3 season stint at Juve once. And he didn’t want to sign a new contract anyway? He usually gives a club two seasons and that’s it. We weren’t an outlier in that respect, he gave us his two seasons or thereabouts, and then he was off - like he always does.

Conte it was also a case of winning sooner rather than later which meant spending a huge amount in a single window or two. Whereas Ange you get the sense he will be happy to develop the team over several windows which is more sustainable for a club like us.
2008 Panachaiki
2009 Whittlesea Zebras
2009–2012 Brisbane Roar
2012–2013 Melbourne Victory
2013–2017 Australia
2018–2021 Yokohama F. Marinos
2021–2023 Celtic
2023 - Tottenham

Ange has 8 appointments in 15 years - 7 in 11 years at club level - yet the narrative is that Conte doesn't stay anywhere for long so was not worth backing.

Really disingenuous though.

Ange has been at these clubs shoer periods because he PROGRESSES to the next level.

Conte was at the clubs for short period because he was difficutl to handle and fell out with people/players.

Very different scenarios

A healthy dose of realism has landed for us fans, and I think, Ange. A reality check.

Removing injuries and suspension, I think Ange is starting to see the mentality issues that have plagued this club for seasons now.

I think he is the right man to see it through. But we are back down to earth with a heavy bump.

The least of our problems RN is Ange. We've finally got a guy worth supporting/showing patience with again for the first time in years, years in which the primes of both Harry and Sonny were utterly squandered which is something that totally doesn't drive me to the edge of insanity btw.

I don't think there is anything tactically to change. The play up to the penalty area is fine, at that point as a collective we need to improve our composure, decision making, and just feels like all of a sudden we feel the pressure and start second guessing ourselves. We knock it around under pressure and in tight spaces for two thirds of the pitch, yet it's like in front of goal with defenders bearing down they need another touch or half a second or to look rather than being decisive.

Individually though it is different.

Don't think we need a striker, as the chatter is starting to go. Son's job is to poach and make short sharp bursts through the defensive line/in front of goal. He's doing this fine, even last night he was there for many tap in's if the final ball was better.

We definitely need two wide players though, especially for the multitude of games like this against teams parking the bus and defending their penalty area. High acceleration, high agility, great close control direct dribblers able to go both ways and stress the edges of opposition defences. I've said all along that I only saw Johnson as a Son understudy and my mind hasn't changed (Son, Johnson, and Veliz as a young 9 with size I'd be content with). Kulusevski I'm rapidly losing patience with - we all know he has something, and he is better in more open games, but the system tends to switch to the right flank and have the wide man with ample opportunity to go at the defence, yet momentum dies too often as the ginger wardrobe stumbles forward.

Midfield still needs another ball player. Even with Maddison and Lo Celso I'd want one more (I'd play two 8/10's most weeks, I've said numerous times), and it's a shame Bentancur is out again because tbh I much prefer a pass and move, circulatory pivot than the Bissouma/Dembele extra dribbling flashiness but sloppy and/or fairly myopic passing ability.

Ultimately though I/we all keep saying Rome wasn't built in a day. All we can do is remain patient at the moment. The foundations look fine, we're getting glimpses of what could be, but there is a road to go down and additions needed before we get there.
I agree with most of that especially the part in bold. After last night I for one have lost patience with him.

All I’ll say to anyone already calling for his head - be careful what you wish for!
What other managers out there would give us so much hope?
We all have to be patient, give the time for players to be added to the squad and for injured to return.

I haven’t seen one person on here want him out. People are tho allowed to a diff opinion.

put it this way , if you had a mate who’s pick up line was getting his knob out in bars and this method didn’t work, would you take him to one side and suggest maybe talking to girls instead / another method?

If Conte's so good, why's he still unemployed eight months later, despite the Italy, PSG, Lyon, Chelsea, and Napoli jobs (the latter two twice) all being available?

I just read that we have had 110 touches in the opposition box in the last two home games against Villa and WH... and we have scored two goals.

I think it shows that Ange is doing the right thing... but we have to work on being more ruthless and decisive in the final third...

And it shows how much we miss Maddison. He often does the unexpected or makes chances bigger for us.

Newcastle (H) Forest (A) possible new manager bounce Everton (H) Brighton (A) Bournemouth (H)
Would you put a years salary on us winning any of those?
And if he ends that run with no win on 10, are we pressing the panic button?

Feel free to hit the panic button.

Reckon you won't like the company of those who already pressed the button.

Conte is like the fucking scab on your arm that is still there months after you ripped the band aid off.

Forget Conte - He's history. Gone. Don't give a shit how he would have handled this year. The fans would have stopped coming to the stadium if he stayed here. That's how toxic he was. So glad he's gone.

I'm pretty sure he came out and said he was just enjoying time with his family.

So there is not a level above us for Ange to "progress" to? Because if there is, then by the logic of some fans we should not be backing him because he doesn't stay anywhere very long.

FTR I am not anti Ange, I am pointing out the hypocrisy and irrationality of some fans such as;

We shouldn't back Conte because he doesn't stay anywhere very long - yet the facts prove that neither does Ange (for whatever reasons)
Conte is an EPL winner - Ange isn't - but we should back Ange anyway
Conte plays boring football - Ange is all about attack - we averaged 2 goals a game in the Prem under Conte (same as Ange)
Conte had Kane - Ange hasn't - Conte took a worse squad in 10th place to top 4 without a pre-season. 1 player, however good, doesn't make up for the dross Conte had to work with when he arrived (No Romero for his first 3 months in charge due to injury) he went his first 9 Prem games unbeaten with a defence put together from the likes of Emerson, Doherty, Sanchez, Tanganga, Dier, Rodon, Davies, Reguilon and Sessignon. He had PEH, Winks, Skipp, Ndombele a washed up Dele and an injured GLC to choose from in midfield.
Conte needs 500M+ of players and we are never going to spend that kind of money - Conte done ok at Inter without that kind of budget - 2 of our better players this season, Porro and Udogie came in on Conte's watch for a combined 60M +/-

Show Conte some respect.
