We've experienced more than our share of rotten luck over the past 30 years.

But, occasionally we strike gold with coaches. EG: Jol replacing the escargit Santini. Redknapp replacing the "2 points out of 8" Ramos, and Poch replacing cockwomble Sherwood, who in turn replaced the 'not very special one', AVB.

Ange wasn't our first choice. By all accounts, it was Slot. Who decided to stay put.

I don't know if Ange was the second, third or fourth choice. He may not have been what was most wanted. But it turns out, he might very well be what we most needed.

Hmm, I wonder where James got this idea from?

But yeah, this guy's version is so much better :)

I like the Ange chant but it’s so odd the way it gets clunkier as it goes on, the Poch, Conte, Mourinho bit flows beautifully, the Christian Gross bit is hugely random, it’s like they started well and gave up near the end in terms of trying to make it rhyme and flow.

I’m with the others that have mentioned it, I’m surprised we haven’t had a waltzing Matilda inspired one yet.

Though I’m liking we aren’t just rehashing the same chants everyone has.

Just goes to show, the deadwood can’t be “coached up”.

Luckily this is the beginning of an era so we need to give it time.

Disappointed, but not in Ange. The usual suspects have let us down once again.

If he's going to lap up praise for how we've been in the league, he's going to have to deal with a bit of shit coming his way after today.

Awful team selection, awful performance.

Yeah he's got that wrong big style today. There was no need to make that many changes when we don't even have Europe to cope with this season. We probably played the fewest games in pre-season of any other Premier League team too.

Some disappointing decisions from him tonight. Too many changes, some bizarre subs and letting Sanchez anywhere near the penalties.

We always knew there was gonna be ups and downs this season, so we all need to be patient.

But this is a bump back down to earth. And I think even Ange would accept that this is on him.

First blip on Ange, if you are assessing your squad in a winnable competition then you need to get it right.

Shows how much work needs to be done though, such dross clogging up this squad

Not sure putting all of the under-performers on the pitch at the same time was going to end in a fair crack for any of them, as has been proven by our last 3 managers. It's on Ange, this one.

Got it wrong, that's fine. It's going to happen. First half was poorest we've been under him, largely cos of the changes I'd imagine, but if he doesn't try other players he'll not know his options.

Loss on penalties. Happens. We move on.

I hope that performance is not wasted and Ange learnt a few things about some of the squad players tonight.

Was expecting the reality check after all the OTT responses by the usual podcast idiots but I was genuinely surprised Ange was the cause of his own downfall.

Terrible team selection. The midfield - two whom are expected to be gone in 5 days time - weakened the entire 11 to breaking point. With Romero, Maddison and Bissouma ALL out our passing ability under pressure was weakened to breaking point.

Have no doubt Ange will wear this and we'll move on but it's very disappointing mistake.

As soon as I saw the line up I knew he’d fucked the game. Realistically the only trophy we could win this season and it’s gone.

I think arrogance from Ange today firstly he picks a poor side then he does an non sensical change at half time then refused to make further changes early enough.. What he was thinking I really do not know !!! This is not Scotland and Fulham at home are a good side especially under the lights!! I have no words for this and it`s a little concerning.. why risk the feel good factor and momentum just so you can take a look at lots of players who feel left out..

Honeymoon over. Previous managers were crucified for throwing a cup. Let alone in a season without Europe.

Read the room completely wrong.

Should have been full strength tonight and got the win. Its more important than trying to finish 6th.

Probably wanted to see more from players and make final decision before the transfer window closes, not too surprising with poor preseason. Still it's just too many changes, even if we played a team from Championship and not a decent team like Fulham.
