I agree. I just posted that I think quite a few of them will find a new lease of life under a new attacking system. They may have to if we don't get the players in that we want. Most of them are talented players but have not been given the chance to show it.I can see some of the players that we've written off having a resurgence under Ange. Three seasons of playing in systems where no one shows for the ball and we only look to counter and sit deep has shown the worst of so many of our players. As soon as we start dominating possession and creating multiple passing options all the time, the players who have been written off will look a world better than they have done.

I think you're probably right about a fair chunk of players and I'd be quite happy to bin off Winks, Sanchez, Sessegnon and a few others right off the bat.Respectfully disagree with this but happy to be proven wrong. I genuinely believe those that have always reverted to type will continue to do so. There is a list of players who we should just move on from, regardless of who our manager is.
If Ange is as good as everyone seems to think he is, then he should be able to turn things round collectively but that doesn’t mean we should keep everyone on the boat for the ride.
Cautiously optimistic about Ange but still eternally pessimistic about a group of our players.
I'm not saying all of them deserve to stay or we shouldn't look to improve, of course we should. But I do think that 99% of our players will look better in this system and under Ange than have done over the past 4 years.Respectfully disagree with this but happy to be proven wrong. When do we find out his back room staff? Must be soon surely?
I reckon next week.
Looks like it's Mason, Davies, and deciding between Clement/Wells.
And a goalie coach too I’m guessing.

You will always look worse when you don't have the ball.
You will always look worse when you don't have enough options for passes.
Your defence will always look worse when it's constantly under pressue.
You will always look worse when you're completely overrun in the midfield.
You will always look worse when you're trying not to lose rather than trying to win.
You give Sanchez two extra passing options when he's got the ball and he suddenly looks a lot more comfortable, same goes for Dier, Hojbjerg, etc. Stick a goalkeeper in who's feet work and again you give an extra feasible option for a pass.
Again not saying we don't need to make changes, we do and I'm sure we will. But we've written off an awful lot of players because of how they've performed in systems that we have hated and said don't work.
I pretty much agree with this.Completely agree, but Dier and Sanchez need upgrading regardless. In midfield we have a load of similar players so I'd let Hojbjerg go and bring in a number 10 like Maddison if possible. With (hopefully) better passing options and more fluid movement, I'd also be inclined to keep Lenglet. I know he lacks pace and physicality, but we won't need that in every match and if he's as cheap as has been suggested, we could do a lot worse as a backup option.
Given how stupidly high Ndombele's wages are and the fact no-one's ever going to buy him, I think we've got absolutely nothing to lose by giving him a shot in pre-season.I pretty much agree with this.
Sanchez - time to go, just not cut out for the PL
Dier - time to go, not cut out to be a CB unless it's a back 3
Rodon - I think Ange needs to evaluate him in pre season and make a call, if not good enough then Lenglet as a second option here makes sense
Tanganga - time to go, shame but he has no long term future at Spurs
Reguilon - Evaluate quickly in pre season, could be worth hanging on to unless someone makes a decent offer for him (£15m+)
Sess - One last role of the dice IMO, will know either way by Xmas
Perisic - Can't see any reason to keep him given his high wages
PEH - Offer over £20m and we should sell
Winks - Needs to leave even if that means cancelling contract
Ndombele - Needs to leave, no point even trying to see if he can resuscitate his career with us
Lo Celso - Offer over £20m and we sell, under that we should keep
Gil - Same as above
This really, I’d be more surprised if he didn’t get every player back, run his own assessment and then make a decision. He should get an early read on players like Ndombele in pre season. He's got the ability but it's his attitude to hard work that will show Ange what he's about. Others he'll know already don't have the quality, like Winks and Sanchez (who clearly isn't good enough on the ball). I've got a feeling Reguilon and Gil could stay. I think they could really thrive in an attacking team. Conte had more reliance on physicality but Ange will be good with smaller technical players. I think a couple will make it and the rest sold or loaned (possibly released).
Vio has stayed on too, hasn't he?
Highly doubt Dier will go, and I'm probably in a small minority of being happy about that. Played most of last season with an injury, and I think in a better system would actually be fine as a rotation option.I pretty much agree with this.

I just don't think there's anyway I could trust him in a forward pressing, high line back 2 formation. If we had European football then maybe there's a case to be made.Highly doubt Dier will go, and I'm probably in a small minority of being happy about that. Played most of last season with an injury, and I think in a better system would actually be fine as a rotation option.
And there will be a major mindset reset for most/all of them.I can see some of the players that we've written off having a resurgence under Ange. So in his first season he just needs to do better than one of the most successful managers around.Presumably, most of the players Ange will be working with will be players bought within the last couple of years. Something like the following: A new GK, CB, AM + Porro, Emerson, Udogie, Romero, Bissouma, Sarr, Bentancur, Kulusevski, Richarlison. Then there's Son and Kane.
Given the chaos of the last couple of years, I think it would be premature to write many of those players off. Pretty much everyone looked terrible last season, including Kulusevski, Romero and Son, who are undeniably highly talented. And others like Bissouma and Richarlison have at least shown they can perform very competently in this league, albeit they did it at other clubs.
That's 14 players above. We will need others, but we probably won't need to rotate much this season, given the lack of European football. I will be very disappointed if Ange cannot get considerably more from this group than Conte did.

Not defending Conte particularly playing style but he had us in fourth the season before last and still fourth was it when he threw his wobbler. Despite unlucky injuries to key players.Presumably, most of the players Ange will be working with will be players bought within the last couple of years.
