I really hope you're right... same here ?I have tickets, hotels and activities on Sunday booked for the Leicester game as well. I can’t for the life of me understand why it shouldn’t go ahead

Come on mate, they could hardly call them off. Arsenal kicked off before the announcement FFS.We want the games to be played right?
Manu and arsenal, perhaps do not always give the best examples to follow, but have already continued their fixtures.
It is not disrespectful - other people still have to go to work.
People genuinely still shell shocked by this do not have to watch the games and can sit over a park or something.
Newspapers do not have to report the games if they find it offensive.
Politicians do not have to score cheap points.
I'm sure the games will be played with all due deference to the situation, with black armbands and flags at half mast.
I'm fine with it.
same here, flying from nyc and my first ever gameSincerely hope the matches this weekend and next go ahead especially as I'm due to go over next Saturday for my first match in four years. Hotel and flights booked
I think this Saturday and Sunday sport should go ahead personally.
Everyones plans will be completely screwed by postponements
I reckon the queen would too.I think this Saturday and Sunday sport should go ahead personally.
Totally agree.
Massive levels of respect can still be paid with games going ahead.

Yep, with the funeral on a Monday, good chance Leicester game can happen, hope so.
Just read the funeral might be on the Saturday. Hope not as might mean Leicester game postponedYep, with the funeral on a Monday, good chance Leicester game can happen, hope so.
I would guess the league are more worried about offending a significant number of supporters than they are worried about the Royal family. And the Royal family have other issues to concern themselves with other than sporting leagues.Yep, I am sure she would. I hope the Royal Family tell the sporting bodies to play sports, I think they would need to provide that input otherwise the FA and PL will err on side of caution and postpone it all.
I read that the funeral will be held nine days after the day the queen dies, which would be next Saturday. That day is meant to be a national day of mourning, so matches on that day will almost certainly be postponed.Yep, with the funeral on a Monday, good chance Leicester game can happen, hope so.
How is postponing things people enjoy a sign of respect?
UEFA will allow us to postponeFirstly, this is a very sad day. We've lost a remarkable head of state with an incredible devotion to duty. Personally I was a big fan.
The funeral has apparently been set for Sep 19th and so won't affect fixtures. I am sure that this weekend's fixtures will be postponed, but I suspect due to the unprecedented congestion already this season, next week's matches will probably happen. UEFA will allow us to postpone the CL matches next week, but I doubt that we will
Just my opinion on things
If the funerals on the Saturday which looks likely then I wonder when the Coronation will be probably take a while to organise but that will be another state occasion though a joyful one and I would guess that is more likely to be midweek and again not much else will happen on that day
