I assume this is a consequence of Brexit?

Does anyone know what leagues are of high enough level for the visa?

It’ll be 2025 when he turns 18.

At that point we’ll have to apply for a GBE (governing body endorsement) which uses a points based system now we’ve exited the EU. I would imagine we will have a good case seeing as he already has senior minutes for Split and has international minutes for Croatia youth teams. There are lots of triggers to gain the GBE, but I’m sure Levy and his team will put a good case forward.

A loan deal to a higher ranked European league will certainly assist with this process.

My understanding is that his loan would be within the EU before he turns 18 as he can move to another league within the EU before then, and when he's 18 the goal is that he'd come to us. As you say, playing in a better league would assist in increasing his chances of getting a visa on the first try.

I do seem to recall that there's now a rule where you can transfer a certain number of under-21's(?), over a period of time, that otherwise wouldn't meet the work permit rules in the UK. Is that perhaps the GBE or am I thinking of something else?

What better league would he get game time at as a 16 year old though? Very interesting.

Maybe it’s time for us to become a multi club like others or perhaps a strategic partnership. Somewhere to loan our players and get them minutes.

It needs to be a place where the club is willing to play and develops a youngster that isn’t theirs. Always a difficult ask but hopefully his quality will be a big enough persuasion

VfL Bochum played Bella-Kotchap when he was just 17 - and he did well.

But he was their player and they knew they'd benefit either sporting or financial long term. A team playing Vuskovic at this age will have to do it because he's better than their other options, and it's very unlikely he is at age 16.

Most of my Team at work are mid thirties and complete Shit. Without knowing what I do he’s a better option

Been thinking about this for years now, great idea and easy to say but finding the right league and club is the tricky bit.

I'd be going to Holland personally a lower Eredivisie club so we can send players there to develop, a great place to develop a player. Surely we got a good Relationship with Volendam now with VDV and Heracles with Parrott. Speaking of lower down the league Dutch clubs, I heard Ajax are good at developing players.

I thought that at first and then thought that was the club ENIC had to sell their shares in once we qualified for the UEFA cup and so did Liege...
Was definitely the club we used to fuck United over for Zeki Fryers when old red nose blocked the move. No idea what the link is though.
