Im sure that was allowed previously?
I never heard of it ever being allowed

Its always been allowed to happen in loan transfers as there is a conflict of interest except in the European comps as they allow it

But never for a transfer

Yeah and it's one of the cornerstone rules of the intra-league loan system. I personally don't agree with that rule, but given they already have it I don't see how they can make too much of a stand on this issue from a 'competition' perspective.

Because this isn't a loan, it's a permanent transfer, and the rules of permanent transfers say that you can't enter into any clauses that materially affect how a party manages their affairs, i.e. whether or not a player can play.

Big Sam though innit, he can't keep his mouth shut

2 points off of top 4, fair play, they're grinding out results with a pretty average but effective team at the moment (probably because there's no fans there tbh)

I can’t believe this is the same fat Sam who only got to manage the England team for one game because he got caught drinking a pint of wine (and other things) would admit to this too. I suspect it has gone on in the past but managers don’t make it public.

To be fair to Sam, that was months before he was England manager, and he as also telling the truth there. I still feel like he was demonised by the media for simply telling the truth.

Fact is, football is full of corruption. In that case, he simply pointed out that third party ownership rules are still easily bypassed.

In this case, he's highlighted another dodgy deal. Have to respect him for not trying to cover up any dodgy deal that WH have tried to make. Too many managers would have made an excuse, which is basically condoning it.

The BBC cite a previous instance where after completing a transfer from Utd to Everton, Tim Howard wasn’t selected in order to honour a ‘gentleman’s agreement’. The Premier League investigated and said they would not have sanctioned the transfer had the agreement been known but ultimately no punishment was issued. Personally I think they got away with one then and I think West Ham will here too. That said, arguably is the situation that different from West Ham’s Tevez deal? Utd with Howard and West Ham with Snodgrass have enforced a third-party influence over team selection. Why should West Ham not have to face Snodgrass but the rest of us do?

I don’t think this is actually true is it?? I thought that was someone taking the piss of a hypothetical transcript.

I mean I know he’s very northern but he strikes me as someone who would enjoy or at least pretend to enjoy a fine wine in a top restaurant with All the millions he has in the bank.

He's not even that Northern, he's from Dudley in the West Mids and grew up a Wolves fan.
