Every third Scotsman is an IrishmanMy point is that you said he’s Irish as they come.
He has mixed Irish, Scottish and English ancestry.

It really isn’t quite that simple.Born in Ireland. His dad is Irish. Regardless of his mother's nationality, he is Irish. And you've missed the point anyway.
This might be a valid argument had the lad not already played for Ireland at under 15, under 17, under 21 level and was not already a full Irish international. To anybody who actually knows anything about the kid at all (you would assume a journalist would have done basic research at least) then it is very clear that the kid views himself as Irish, has played for Ireland at every level and is a CURRENT IRISH FULL INTERNATIONAL.It really isn’t quite that simple.
People’s national identity is largely down to the individual. I have black friends who have dual nationality and have spent the vast majority of their lives in England.
Some see themselves as British and others of the birth place of their parents.
As Evans has 1 Irish and 1 British parent it is up to him how he identifies.
Asking if he wants to play for England or Ireland is a valid question. For all we know, he’s very close to his mum and feels the same as her.
I agree with that. I never expected a Talksport journalist to have done any research. This might be a valid argument had the lad not already played for Ireland at under 15, under 17, under 21 level and was not already a full Irish international. To ignore all that and ask him if he would choose to play for England is either incredibly stupid and misinformed and/or hugely arrogant and disrespectful.
