New season, new thread. Barcelona win without Messi and Coco scores a brace on his Sevilla debut.

Well up, Dingo!

State of Barca right now is shocking:

Excerpts:

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has opened up on the club's "very worrying" financial situation, revealing the La Liga giants are €1.35bn (£1.15bn) in debt.

Laporta blamed his predecessor Josep Bartomeu for a "terrible inheritance" which he says sees club salaries representing 103 per cent of income at the Nou Camp.

"The first thing we had to do when we arrived was to ask for a loan of €80m because otherwise, we could not pay the salaries. The previous regime was full of lies."

We also found out that the club had already received 50 per cent of the TV rights fees in advance.

"We found the wage policy in the form of an inverted pyramid - veterans on long contracts and youngsters on short deal. There were no wages cuts - lies.

"We have found that disproportionate payments have been made to intermediaries, not even agents.

"Barcelona has a negative net worth of €451m - it is a terrible inheritance. What has been happening is very worrying.

Despite such a wealth of problems, Laporta believes Barcelona can repair its situation and has revealed that it has taken out a loan of "€550m with an interest rate of 1.1 per cent to restructure the club".

Some of those comments were eye opening. There was one about how they payed a scout 8m Euros to scout in South America and he brought them a couple of Brazilians that did nothing.

They're a really good example of the "against" side of fan ownership

lamela was looking stronger, quicker and fitter than he ever had last season, i'm not surprised he's doing well.

Everyone looks stronger, quicker and fitter once they stop having Mourinho as manager and get a manager who works them on the training ground.

Well, almost at least, not naming names...

He had a torrid time with fitness and injuries his whole time with us, nothing to do with Mourinho.

Barca currently trailing 1-0 at home against Granada, Koeman has to be a goner if they don't win this.

Watching Sevilla play and I still think Lopetegui would have been a good fit for us. Obviously, he turned us down but maybe we try again down the line.

Rakutan cancelled Barca shirt deal year early. This really could totally crumble.

Watching Barca v Atleti now. Cracking first ten minutes and an absolutely insane strike by Alba to equalise.

And I frickin love the camera they use for close up celebrations and the like, the way the players in the foreground are crystal clear when everything behind goes completely out of focus. Would love for those cameras to come to the PL too.

They started doing that in the NFL this year with touchdown celebrations. Wonder who took it from who.

La Liga first tried it out in January last year apparently. Just says that NFL have also tested the cameras so it's a slightly outdated article.

The fun thing is the cameras are simple A7S cameras that are fairly cheap (comparatively) and provide such a different shot and feel to the traditional cameras.

Barca turn it around. This has been a really fun game so far.

Adama assist and little Gavi heads in.
