what a waste of a purchase? Purely commercial based in my limited opinon on the matter. We have 3 centre backs that will always start ahead of him, plus in my opinon he wont be better than foyth, has less potential to grow and is another foreign player? I cannot see any gain in the transfer and would be pretty annoyed as we'd probably be paying more money to weaken the squad?
I can't see any reason commercially considering we already have Son. Is this opinion based on what you know about Kim? I think people are putting a lot of faith in CCV and Foyth to be honest given they've done nothing to suggest they're good enough. I guess the club has seen something in Kim. Besides he looks totally different to Foyth, a much more physical type.

Ally: “They were certainly looking at Kim-min Jae as one of their defensive targets earlier in the window but the centre-back spot is one they're going to look at once the new striker is tied up and once they have funds in through player sales. So that could be later in the window and the market of course can change from week to week and who becomes available.”

So basically if and when Foyth goes we look into the KMJ deal.

There seems to be more variables than that. If Foyth is the only one out I can't see any more than a striker coming in. I guess if the striker is home grown we could make way for Kim but may still need to raise the money. I'm expecting a one in one out policy now though. Aurier and Foyth out with a striker and center back in would be nice, add Rose out and a wide attacker in and that would be perfect imo.

I took it as we’re committing our CB budget to getting a striker which implies we’re spending £30m+ on a striker. We’ll then look at CB options if any of our deadwood leaves.

Thank fuck we’re prioritising a forward over an unnecessary ( imo ) CB
Who says it is prioritising?

We are linked with strikers all over the place. It is clearly highly a high priority.

Just because a different deal is easier to complete it doesn't mean we are neglecting a different position.

I think you "found" sarcasm where there was none tbh

I've got to say that given the way we are struggling for someone to create down the left, if we really want another CB it makes far more sense to move Ben permanently inside to become our 4th CB and then use the money to buy Reguilon, rather than buying this bloke - however decent he may or may not be.
