I avoided coming on SC after yesterday, i couldn't stomach all the negative kneejerk crap that might have made yesterday worse.

We are disappointed today being 2pts off the leaders and 10pts clear of 5th......wow we have come along way, yes we want to win every game but as fans lets not get carried away, we are still in a great position, no an unbelievable position after those first 2 games when CL looked miles away.Don't get caught up in all the media hype, our main aim is the CL places.

The prem this year i think is probably the most competetive with no whipping boys out there, all the top teams have dropped points to lesser teams, if we continue to average 4pts per 2 games we will be fine.

Yes we should have won yesterday ,maybe our tempo was a little off, maybe Bale should stay out wide more....but its gone and we are still in a magnificent position .....ENJOY!

Don't think it's been too knee jerk at all and Man Utd and Man City will still drop a lot of points before the end of the season

As for being most competitive season I don't agree, 3 teams including ourselves were on record points total after 20 games played, if the league was more competitive there would be less point differential between the top and the bottom.

Don't agree ........

All the games have been hard fought victories for the top teams, just because they edge them doesn't mean the league isn't really competitive. Its not the points or the victories that make a league the most competitive, its the actual games, and most wins gained by the top teams are after hard fought games.

I agree it hasn't been too kneejerk , but i did say i avoided it just in case, though if you read carefully there is a thread calling for our keeper to be ditched, loads calling for Dawson to be ditched....1 defeat since august...keep it real!!

There has been a fair amount knee-jerking TBF.

Think about it this way; if we had been 4 points off Utd going in and we'd won yesterday and they had drawn, we'd all be creaming our jocks at only being 2 points away from them.

Looong way to go.

For me we are still in a great position, anything greater than fourth would be great. Fair enough we have been on the end of some awful decisions, but that can happen, every now and again. And maybe it might be the kick up the arse we need. We were always going to drop points yesterday given the media pressure that was on us.

I was annoyed yesterday, but that passed quickly, alot more important things to worry about at the minute.

It did lead me to think that -
1. We didn't lose
2. It served to remind those players that didn't know, how much hard work was left
3. Might encourage Daniel to open his cheque book.

I wasn't disappointed at all, in fact I was pleased we got a point, I thought wolves was always going to be a tough game, some people underestimate our opponents. We didn't lose a game over the difficult Christmas period.

It's been very knee jerk. Record sales of knee pads have been recorded. And IMO it's a very competitive season. There are more clubs in the running for CL spots than ever before when previously the top 4 positions were practically sown up by now. There will always be a big difference between the top and bottom teams

For those who don't think there's been any knee jerking, read through the match thread. And for those who hate people who criticise knee jerk posts because they don't think they're knee jerk posts, they can fuck off.

No problems with people desperately disappointed in us failing to consolidate yesterday, but some of the utter shit being spouted is ridiculous. Friedel shit, Walker shit, Dawson shit, Adebayor shit, Bale shit, Redknapp shit etc etc. Players can have a bad game without being or playing shit believe it or not.

As always, it's all about perspective. We're in a brilliant position we couldn't have dreamed of in August. There have been so many shocks this season yet we've avoided pretty much any. We're not going to go through the season winning every single game we're expected to win. No-one does that.

Honestly, I've said it before and I'll say it again... I dread what this board would be like if we become a successful team. I dread what it would be like if we won the league this season and only finished 3rd or 4th next season. God forbid......

^ This......agree mate, i think like good and bad players there are good and bad fans, real and unreal fans, fickle glory hunters or just fans who genuinely are fooking clueless...i have been around spurs long enough to know that these are the good times.

According to Redknapp, Levy encouraged him to buy big last season and Redknapp said he wasn't so keen on doing it. I reckon we definitely have money available to spend, but I don't think we have identified the right players to improve us.

What we did, yesterday, bottom line, was extended our latest unbeaten run, since Chris Foy FookedByJove-ism our first one...that's a good thing, right

Sure, we dropped two points, albeit in a hard-fought game. It was a missed opportunity, of a fashion. But you don't get any more points for beating Wolves than you do for beating anyone else, and neither us nor every other team is going to win every game, or win every game we are expected to win, and lose every game we are expected to lose. It just don't work that way.

I'm pretty sure that only two years ago we were going to beat Pompey in a cup semi as compensation for the fact that we couldn't possibly beat the Goons and chelsea in half a week and, therefore, had absolutely no chance of qualifying for the CL.
