Harry Kane has stressed that his goal right now as a player is to win team trophies.

On the losing side at Wembley on Sunday in the Carabao Cup final as Man City claimed a slender 1-0 win, the England captain was crowned Premier League Player of the Year at the London Football Awards on Tuesday evening following a fantastic season.

maybe scoring goals in Cup finals,
will get you a trophy citizen Kane
It's a fair point IMO. He went missing for most of the game on Sunday. Given that we were still 0-0 at 80mins, a stand out performance from him could have netted the first goal and given us the win. It's all well and good wanting the team to elevate, but as a striker of his quality he should have been able to single-handedly win that game for us on Sunday.

Well he needs to get the ball first and the time he did get the ball he created an opportunity where his team mates totally messed it up, he can only do so much.

And yet he says this AFTER a cup final again.
I really didn't see him busting a gut on Sunday. Not that anyone else barring the defence did either.

I don't know what you are expecting him to do? Do you want him to go chasing the ball around like a dog?

I expect him to take the same flak as everyone else. This is not Harry Hotspur. If the team lose then he is not immune from criticism. And yet for the past 3 days it has been a poor-Harry weep-fest around here.

So even if he does get the same flak as everyone else then what difference does that make to him expressing that he wants to win trophies?

Becasue he's had plenty of opportunities. What, he didn't want to before? It sure looked that way on the field. I will stress again, as did everyone else.

Yeah I don't get your argument.

We played shit, he played shit, fair. But that doesn't take away his point of the team not being able to get over the line in the past few seasons. He has been the biggest contributor as to why we have remained competitive throughout this time so he's well within his rights to ask why we keep continuing to fail as a team.

So does this mean he’s staying :nailbiting:

For the 10,000th time....

When has Levy ever said to a player we dont want to sell with 3 years left on their contract "Yep ok, off you pop if thats what you want. I'll accept a bid below my valuation of you."
Who is going to write a cheque for £150m+?

Unless its for a world record breaking fee or thereabouts. It ain't happening.

That quote is as good as a transfer request.

We should only sell him to Man City in England only. Any team abroad is fine but will teams want to pay over 100m for a 27 year old in a pandemic?

But he is with them day in day out. The only way I can explain is that he has serious leadership deficiencies. You lead by example, and in the big games that simply doesn't happen with him. I will say again. Harry was not present in 2 out 3 of the biggest games of this club's recent history so the QF and SF of the CL. He was in the final though.

 You're expecting him to take full responsibility of the team not showing up on those days? I gave a perfect example earlier - in the League cup final he laid on a chance for Hojbjerg that he completely messed up, how can you put any blame on him for that?

His team mates need to step up, if anything it goes to show that you can't always rely on one player.

I agree. But what I refuse to do is paint a halo around Kane's head for simply doing his job. Which is to score goals. He has shown too little leadership to be labelled as the victim of being surrounded by mediocrity.
