Indeed the last few years have been great in that regard, prior to that it's been the opposite. It's a clean slate again and the proof is in what they do from this point forward not the last couple of years.

With Veliz likely out of action for a while and Sonny off to the Asia cup, getting Jota in (loan or purchase) just seems like the perfect solution.

I know the Saudi’s are loaded but i still don’t know why they would just tare up his contract and let him go for free, or eat most of his contract whilst he goes on loan and offer low terms on a buy option. Maybe if they couldn’t register him in summer but now they will be able to I don’t know why they would actually want him gone anymore.

As a target, if Ange wants him then I’m completely behind it. He wouldn’t necessarily be my choice but Ange would know him better then any of us so i don’t think anyone can really dismiss the move. The financial side im a little confused by but if we can get a deal then great.

I tend to think we would have looked to get Veliz a starting role with a loan move which was partially a motivation behind it had it not been for boss injury today. Plus it’s better to give a youngster the sparing minutes at his club than the same amount at a loan club.

I know he had an injury but wasn’t he very underwhelming when he did get minutes? I thought that was the case but could be completely wrong tho, haven’t really kept up with our loans this season.

harry kane was totally underwhelming at leicester and Norwich then came into our team and the rest is history. Sometimes loans can be misleading as lets be honest a club is aways going to put more effort into the assets they own than they are borrowing.

Does this mean Paratici will have no involvement whatsoever in scouting and helping negotiate deals? As it’s been made pretty clear that he will remain as a consultant for Spurs. So, maybe there is a small thread of continuity with the former team, via the Don?

I don't think that idea reigns in here to be honest. I think some are sceptical for cheap deals as sometimes we have chosen cheap deals ahead of getting in real talent.

We've got cheap deals for the likes of Vicario, Bissouma and others. Don't recall any "he must be shit" appraisals of them.

I think there was a lot of doubt around Vic on the forum initially, I definitely remember some displeasure at us not getting Raya.

I think it’s it’s still fair to have some doubt. I don’t think everyone’s convinced about Solomon, and we don’t wanna have too many uncertainties in the squad.

I don’t know, I definitely understand both sides of the argument.
