Saudi Pro Clubs can only register a total of eight foreign players over the course of the season. Jota happens to the 9th foreign player on his team ( Al-Ittihad ) and is currently unregistered. Meaning he's only been eligible to feature in the odd cup game but not the actual Saudi League.
Did they choose not to register him?

Because there's some names in that squad that I don't recognise at all so not sure why they'd be chosen ahead of Jota.

As soon as he got there, there were rumours he didn’t like the lifestyle. I reckon it’s something to do with that.

Did he arrive after them?
After our loan cock up with Doherty, it wouldn't surprise me if a Saudi club made a bit of a admin cock up too.

And that also stinks of a young player being poorly advised.
Mendes after the money again...what a shock.

I know nothing about the boy, bar youtube, but Ange has worked with him extensively for a good few years, so if he thinks he could add a different dimension to the squad, for the right price, I'm for it

I'd be much more open to adding him if we didn't already have Solomon taking up the international "tricky winger who is probably not good enough for a Top 4 Premier League squad but he was cheap so let's see" slot.
I mean solomun was good before his injury?

I want him just so we can hear the Spurs fans sing his song "Jota on the Wing" class.

I actually think he would be a smart signing on loan with a view to perm, from watching him at Celtic i think he is an upgrade on Soloman and Gil and has potential to get better. He knows Ange and Ange knows how to get the best out of him so hopefully there is truth in this.

Wouldn't be surprised if he came in on loan in January with a Jota plus cash deal for Richarlison mooted for the summer.

With the balls Richarlison has in standing against his own government (at the time) while being a national team player, I would be more than shocked if he chucks his morals out for a few mil and goes over there.

I think there is about as much chance of us selling Richarlison in January as there is me actually finding Santa in my house on Christmas morning. Why on earth would we sell Richarlison at the moment?

I think the poster meant Richarlison to move on this summer as part of the Jota deal coming in Jan. I could be wrong.

That's hardly a way to inspire Richy for the second half of the season though.
And he's better than the Saudi League, I would have thought he knows that.

If he is available in a week - I would take him.

If nothing else - he can play LW while Sonny is away.

He already knows the system, and has had success - so he should be able to slot in quickly.

Yeah, I can't really see a downside on a quick loan with an option. Really seems an ideal signing.

Not entirely sure, seems like whoever was in charge of buying players at the club didn't bother to check with the manager about what type of player they really needed. Seems Jota is a victim of poor team management.

It was Nuno at the start of the season wasn't it?

Yeah, he was in charge at that time. It's a completely confusing situation because Jota was originally eligible and played the 1st 5 league games and then they signed another player and decided they would prefer to have the other foreign player eligible for the league over Jota. I'm all for a loan move as he already knows Ange's system and is much more dynamic and skillful then Bryan.
