Is Joe Hart doing a Paul Robinson?...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24778956

I am not wishing anything negative for him, but this is all looking a little familiar - out of nowhere a loss of form like Paul Robinson. Maybe just a wake up call at city, but maybe long term... 2 things to start the thread off:

1- do you think this is just a blip or maybe the beginning of the end for his England #1 status?

2- if he is no longer England #1, then who is there and could be ready for Brazil 2014?

In general, I hope he bounces back and is fine,... but keepers are a funny lot... :mask:

I don't see why. He's s major player for a major rival. A loss if form & confidence would be great for us on a club level

On an England level, if he's not cutting the mustard then replacing him is best for the team.

I hope he loses all his confidence & implodes to our benefit

Is it me or are a lot of keepers making mistakes because they're trying to do the Lloris "sweeper keeper" role?

Joe Harts attempt last week was awful.

he will still be Englands No.1
I dont think he is anywhere as good as City fans and the Media makes out, but dont think anyone else is up with him.

See what happens in a few games, he might be back in

England's problem is that the press love to shoot their men down for a story.

Hart is young, and if they play their cards right he will be England keeper for the next 10 years.

I've seen a noticeable change around the league, it's a risky thing to do because it's not natural to them.

Just cos he plays for Man City and he's the best we have, doesn't mean he's anything above average.

The fact that he could be our keeper for the next ten years just shows how rubbish we are and will continue to be.

Who is going to replace him? May have dipped form and confidence but he's streets ahead of anyone else at the moment.

Forster anyone?

If he was playing in the Prem then he would be head and shoulders above Hart in the pecking order.

1 challenging game every 2-3 weeks in CL isn't enough to put him ahead of Hart in the eyes of the media or Roy for that matter.

Yeah that's true, he should at least get picked though as one of the three keepers so Hodgson can get a better look at him in training. Or try him in one of the friendlies, nothing to lose

Completely agree. He should be getting a chance in the upcoming friendlies. If Hart plays in them all England will go to a World Cup with back up goalkeepers with next to no international experience.

We want to hope he hits top form pretty quick, because if City are looking for a keeper with the money they can afford to throw around I would be worried about losing Hugo.

One word should put those worries to bed..

Woy has a massive decision now. Does he keep playing joe in friendlies to give him confidence? I personally think he needs to give Forster some games at int. level. We could have a situation going into a World Cup where our no. 1 has played only couple of cup games in 6 months, or playing Ruddy who's not good enough IMO. If Pontillimon has a couple of stormers, could be a possibility.

Given Levy's track record I'd imagine Man City's owners would end up giving us half of the United Arab Emirates for Hugo.
