Hopefully coming to Spurs to watch Cheltenham get a good thrashing next month and would like some advice from regular traveller's to the Lane. My Brother and I are bringing 2 Children with us and wanted to stay over Friday night at a fairly close Travel Lodge or similar and travel to the match via train or tube. Any advice which would be easiest and best route to bring 2 small children aged 11 and 13?
I know the match is at 3 0'clock and so we won't be wandering around late at night, but was hoping to find a route which didn't involve too much walking with the kids.
Cheers if you can help.

I Know its not close but you could stay in the travel lodge at harlow Town (which is situated outside the train station), frequent trains.
Can get a train to Northumberland Park Station, which only takes about 25 minutes (if that) then a small walk to the ground.

Holiday Inn Express , Chingford - North Circular will be cheap

Otherwise stay in central London around Bloomsbury / West End near a tube station.

I'd go with L10's suggestion and head for somewhere central on the victoria line (tube) route. There are loads of hotels around the victoria line hotspots (Oxford Circus, Victoria) where you will be handy for the west end and an easy tube up to spurs.

Harlows not that bad.....

Not compared to Baghdad, Baltimore or Mogadishu I agree

To be fair though I used to go to Nortel in Harlow a lot and stayed in a lovely pub in Old Harlow - new Harlow though is another story and not for me

Not sure about that, Mogadishu could be a tad safer on a Friday night.

We would normally stay near liverpool street station which is safe and central to everything.

There is a hotel called 'Club Quarters' which is within 5 mins walking distance from liverpool street and it's a brilliant spot and not too expensive either. Rooms are really nice and staff are great.

Yes you can't go wrong staying in or around Liv St. As YJ says it's nice and safe and train from Liv Street goes direct to WHL or Northumberland Park. There is an Ibis hotel at Aldgate (Commercial Street to be exact - 1 tube stop or 10 min walk to Liv Street) which should be nice and cheap on a Friday/Saturday

Plus your boys will probably be impressed with the skyscrapers ;-)

Drive to the holiday inn (Chingford) as mentioned by totoner. Park your car there and then get the 34 bus to Edmonton and either walk 10 minutes or get a bus down the high road to the ground.
