Harry Kane set for £160m transfer move to Manchester City after Daniel Levy U-turn

I would rather him go to City than to Chelsea or Man United, that I could live with that.
If it's another English club I agree, because the thought of thousands of Southerners wandering round places I'm from and frequent with his name on the back of their shirts would be too much to bear.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

We'll see how it pans out. But it's a huge issue for us to have the new manager come in and try to build good momentum without the goal guarantee that Kane brings. I have some trust in Nuno, but he'll need a bit of time and it'd be a shame for him if the short-term loss of the number 1 striker leads to a slow start and immense pressure.
Who knows how the team would get on in the short term without Kane but I'm sure that any reasonable person would give Nuno a bit of time anyway, especially given the squad overhaul that is taking place.

Think it’s pretty obvious the reason we brought in a DOF was to spend the Kane money - I think like with Bale we’ll see our incomings first then big sale. No way we’re keeping Kane and recruiting all those names

As long as they don't land us with Raheem Sterling.
Not that long ago i'd have agreed with you, but now, I would be so against the idea although Willow would probably go pale at stumping up the 300k a week he'd likely ask for.

If, and I mean if, there is any substance to this latest ‘report’ I guarantee that Daniel Levy will handle the sale. Expect a massive snag or two just when it is about to go through and expect it to be completed late on transfer deadline day. Have a lovely summer everybody.

Honest - dont really care. When a player goes on about winning things, its.best for them to go. I could win trophies playing for City, I hope he fills his pockets and satisfies his need for trophies .. One day he'll look back, wish he'd stayed with us when we win the PL in style. Wish him welll-dont care.

Edit, once tha pace picks up with crowds back, hell probobly get injured. Lose fitnaess because he wont play every week.

We won’t get any player from them, for the simple fact that no-one is going to join us from a PL champion team, with regular CL football.
Can you really see Gabriel Jesus, Sterling or Mahrez saying yes to drop down to Europa Conference and heavily reduced wages?!?

Levy wants a cash only deal because he knows players won’t leave City for us.

He wants league goal record, can't blame him. Easier for his family to settle too.
I think beating Shearer's record is as important to him as team titles. Can't risk going abroad for even one season if he wants to break it.

Oh happy Friday guys….
This is just rubbish, I was hoping this had all died down but obviously not, how on earth do we replace him?
We can’t, I’m so disappointed with him if this is true but I can understand that he wants to win things and quite clearly he isn’t winning anything with us.
I’m more worried about how my six year old is going to take this as I’m sure as hell not buying him a Citeh kit with Kane on the back, he can suffer the 40+ years of hurt like his father has had to, let’s call it a father to son gift…

No way would Man City pay £160M for him, Levy probably leaked that story himself because that is how much he wants for him

Who’s our next manager?

First thought - Good bloody riddance. He's been a right bloody Jonah in our quest for silverware.

Second thought - I think I've got severe sunstroke. I need to lay down in a cool, darkened room with a soggy flannel on my head and several cold lagers at my feet.
I’ve done that for the last week anyway

I’m sure he would have loved to stay and beat Greaves all time record but unfortunately we have fallen so far and Levy has fucked up so much that it’s utter madness to stick around

Well done DL. What terrible news for the football club that our once in a generation home grown player will be leaving

However you try and spin it it’s incredibly sad for all parties but most especially the supporters of this great club. We have been run disastrously, on the pitch, for a couple of years now….

Really annoyed about this. Completely understand him wanting to leave, but thought he'd have the decency to go abroad
Kane thinks about kane. Thats why hes a top goal scorer. Why would he move abroad and make things hard for himself. He would be a small fish abroad imo

So other teams can get wind of it and demand more for their players? Doubt it.
