Have we been linked? He’s an unreal talent imo. Have been hoping Arsenal don’t get him since they’re apparently after him.
City are looking at him now. So too are Madrid, Atletico and RB Leipzig.

You have to imagine he'd take one look at Arsenal and see how Pepe has done and think "nah". Not to mention how awful they've been.

All those clubs I mentioned would boost his career more.

Mental how his agent has come out with this now, there's always too much noise surrounding Pogba

It plays into his agent's hands. Another sign on fee for him. That agent is a cockroach and a blight on the game.

I’ve seen quite a bit of Salzburg and he looks very, very good. Fantastic technique.

Would love szobozslai, but can’t see many clubs activating that clause if they have to pay 25mil all in one lump sum.
can imagine Daniel going to work on a different deal though.

Tbf he won’t be looking at us either if he wants to play his natural game. Under Poch yes. Mourinho? Nope.

Absolutely. He is a great talent but there are way better options for him. We are stacked in offense, Jose loves the players who contribute well defensively and without the ball, thats why he likes to play Bergwijn, Lucas, Lamela or Sissoko.
If we have a bit of money to invest, go for a robust Sissoko/Hojbjerg cover who has a solid technique. Maybe Khedira as a short term solution and long term someone like Phillips from Leeds.

I know this has probably been said a thousand times but Raiola is such a piece of work, he rarely has his players best interests at heart and its very clear he is orientated around money and money only.

I don't ever have a problem with agents doing their job and getting the best pay or fee for a player IF the player is moving to a club that they have their heart set on but Raiola has such a snakey way of going about it that just rubs me the wrong way.

Zlatan credits Raiola with making him the player he has been for the last 15 years, so he must have done something right.

Not saying I agree with the concept of superagents (or agents in general, really), because I don't and Raiola seems to clearly not have Pogba's best interests at heart the way he's going about things with him. This of course might be Pogba's fault as much as Raiola's we don't know what goes on behind closed doors between them.

That sounds like such a bullshit statement; I think Zlatan's mentality (which he had long before he met Raiola) and all the talent in the world are responsible for 95%. Raiola might have helped him a bit along the way though, just like for instance Mourinho did.

Someone like Zlatan didn't need a particular agent to become a world-class striker.

Even coming from Zlatan himself that sounds like such a bullshit statement; I think Zlatan himself with all the talent in the world are responsible for 95%.
Yes and no, obviously nothing would've happened had Zlatan not been supremely talented but Raiola more or less told him to buckle up and start working harder and he managed to get through to Zlatan in a way nobody had managed before. This article is a very good read, Raiola's definitely got a bit of the mafioso about him but with some players it just resonates and Zlatan is probably the one who's benefited most from his approach.

I feel almost ashamed to admit that atleast with Zlatan in that given situation, he did a good job of helping his career along. This was before he became a “super agent” though, and he probably had the players best interests at heart back then because it would benefit him in the long ran as we see him today.

I still believe however he is a genuinely selfish businessman and whilst that is admirable in other areas of business it just doesn’t sit right with me when the assets are human beings.

I'm no fan of agents but many of his clients have commented on how he has helped them on a personal level and how close they are etc. Agenda against him because he's upset the media's favourite team.

I can. €25m is nothing these days for a player of his quality and potential. For a lot of clubs, too.

Exactly, and just because Salzburg need the lump sum for the clause to be triggered, it doesn’t mean a club couldn’t finance the deal through a third party like Arsenal did for Pepe.

Poor old Arsenal still paying for Pepe although they don’t want him.

Ok
I guess we’ll see in January

Based on everything we’ve been told about how our club structure their transfers, I can’t see Daniel liking any part of that clause.
All through the last few transfer windows we’ve had ITKs tell that clubs don’t like to pay big up front.

Add in the current financial climate, I think Salzburg are quite confident they’ll keep szobozslai for a while longer
