Ive read that he is quite similar to Dele in his style of play. Not really a dribbler or passer but a goal scoring midfielder. Ive personally never seen him play so hopefully someone who has can let us know how good he is/could be.

Out of those linked this one makes the most sense to me as not only does the kid have huge potential and is tailor made for an Ange 8 but also Celta supposedly want Regi. Getting rid of Regi and bringing in Gabri with a smaller fee would be very good business imo. I could also see it being a much smoother deal to do than the other two linked.

£34m release clause reportedly, but PSG, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, even City have been strongly linked - going to be a challenging one to get done I expect.

Pay the release clause, agree a contract with the player, bosh, done! I don’t know what’s stopping Levy, signings seem to be a piece of cake. :cautious:

This is one time when waiting might actually be for the best.
If you wait, other clubs might decide to buy bigger names such as Barella and think they have less of a need.
If we met the clause now, clubs might jump in because they havent signed a midfielder yet

If you want him as first choice sell hojbjerg, offer the release clause, if he doesn't take it move on.

Obviously selling hojbjerg isnt straight forward but offering the clause and seeing if he fancies us is.

If he doesn't wanna come go to plan b.

I’d disagree for the exact same reason. If clubs are still looking at their first options, they might not be willing to start negotiating with option 2 or 3 so we go in with a hard sell - you’re our first choice - and get it done.

I wonder what happens to PEH. Seems to have gone very quiet regarding him. Seems our interest in Veiga and Gallagher was dependent on him leaving.

I read that A.Madrid want him but have to shift players first.
Makes sense. Be interesting to see what happens to Felix. He’s completely stuck, might be a choice of Saudi or a season in the stands. Nobody else can afford him least of all Barca. I’m sure that’s holding up a lot of their business.

looking like he won’t be the PEH replacement. If we get one that is.

I'd have thought we'd want someone more defensive to replace Hojbjerg? We have a lot of box to box passers, imagine we're looking for some press resistance and ability to put a foot in. Someone like Kante was at Chelsea with that raw chasing back pace would be ideal.

I’m just mentioning it as earlier in the window Veiga and Gallagher were mentioned as players we liked as possible replacements for PEH.

I never thought we’d sign this bloke. Didn’t seem like our kind of move.
And yet in the next 12-24 months our fans will be foaming at the mouth and still unable to understand why we didn't buy him in the summer of '23

Tbf he would be absolutely perfect for an 8 in Ange’s system and we supposedly had him high on our list earlier in the window. And you could also say Vilez wasn’t “our kind of move” so who knows what sort of moves we want to make going forward. But yeah, it seems we aren’t pursuing this or Scott.
