It's so refreshing to have a manager that is likeable and warm. You just know the players even the ones not playing, won't have a bad word to say about him, total contrast to Jose who let's be honest, it would be pretty easy to fall out with and start actively disliking.

The Jose era really will be looked back on as pretty dark times, just so glad they are over.

It's becoming apparent that Nuno knows how to get the best out of his players, if you get the best out of our lot top 4 is a real possibility.

One thing I loved Sunday was how when we won the ball we looked calm and played into peoples feet rather than just lumping it up and starting to defend again. I was really impressed with our quick passing under pressure.

Our passing under Mourinho was generally so so poor. We couldn't keep the ball at all.

Immediately look much better. Convinced it's mental rather than technical. Players were scared or switched off under Jose and the ball was like a hot potato. I think more scared, like they were under duress and pressure.

Only a few players like Kane played naturally.

exactly. you don’t need to have the ball to play attacking football and sunday proved it. city had the majority of possession but we were by far the more threatening team.

Yep, I was explaining this to a buddy who is starting to get into football. The concept that you can have the lesser amount of possession but dominate the game at the same time. Sunday was a perfect example.

must admit i wasn't overly excited with his appointment.

boy was i wrong. early days but he's a breath of fresh air, can't fault anything he's done. plus he's clearly a smashing guy to boot.

Agree. I'm still very skeptical over the mid to long term success but not hating the entirity of the personality and tactics of our manager is genuinely refreshing.

I don’t know much about his strengths and weaknesses but I do remember thinking that his wolves side were shockingly good, and the best team I’d seen us face aside from city over two or three games the last few years. i felt like though Poch has been amazing for us, his limitations as a manager were shown up in games like that. Wolves outplayed us in every area of the park, looking like there was a gulf in intelligence and coaching/tactics. They just made us look like a slugger telegraphing every attack as they comfortably sidestepped, took control and made the significant moves. It was genuinely a surprise to me when everyone said how awful and negative wolves were last season as I don’t watch other teams in the premiership really. Like I say, I really haven’t watched much of his teams but those games against wolves really impressed me and not exaggerating saying only city have more thoroughly outplayed us In the league.

I had a similar feeling about our play being shown up when we faced Ten Hag too, though his players were miles better and they looked a bit more fragile defensively.

Awful tactics tonight and an unwillingness to adapt. I know the players were absolute dog shit but that's also on him for the putrid team selection. After the 3rd unsuccessful hoof upfield to Scarlett he should've switched things up dramatically but again, he didn't give himself much to work with with the bench he chose.

Not going to go to overboard with the result but felt the back 5 just wasn’t working, Gil started well when he got out wide but playing through the middle didn’t really suit, from early on we were getting countered through the midfield. I would have put sess in the front 3 with John, winks and GLC in the middle and then a 4 ATB.

Still early days and Rome wasn’t built in a day and all that, however I hope this shows Nuno that some players just aren’t up to it and we desperately need a ST

He was playing a mixture of youth and B/C team players, regardless of formation it wasnt going to be pretty tonigh. The club and him have made a stance in the sense this comp isnt of highest priority (i feel the same way i know many do not ), whether you agree with their decision on this or not, it was abundantly clear by the squad of players that travelled

my eyes are still bleeding from that... what on earth I Dane Scarlett supposed to do isolated with people pinging long balls at him he's 17 and he's a pacey forward not a target man that was madness. If your going to play a second string at least play to their strengths.

Felt he saw this game as another pre-season friendly to blood the youngsters, play the new signings, and give more minutes to some of the fringe players. Looking at it like that, I got the impression he was seeing what the players could show him rather than trying to win the game. If so, while it wasn't pretty, I won't be judging him for it.
