We need some of that attacking edge Liverpool showed
That fast attack that Sterling and Ibe had to offer, constantly putting us under pressure and looking dangerous
We only really had Kane who ever looked like getting beyond their back line
We look effective but we;re still lacking that bit of pace and I don;t think we really create enough chances (still a few too many long shots)
Things are certainly on the up but I agree we're still lacking depth and in need of a few key signings to add that certain something we're missing. We don't have that attacking threat Sterling, Sturridge and now Ibe offer Liverpool
Maybe other players will continue to step up under Poch though
Lol yea I know Sterling never played - I meant he offers them that usually rather than specifically last nightSterling never played.
I think we attacked well enough and yes we do need more pacy options.
One of the obvious problems of Pochetino's style is that it asks an awful lot from the fullbacks. You need someone with aggressive attacking instinct to provide width, but this leaves huge gaps down our flanks when we lose possession. Liverpool saw this and had the willing runners to exploit it. Rose isn't the greatest defensive left back because he's not naturally left sided, but it's the system that makes him look worse. As for the five points I thought a bit hard on Rose
I agree. I think we played well generally. People saying they wish we could attack like Pool. I think we do. Just ask Arsenal and Chelsea. Last night could have gone either way.Sterling never played.

As Gaz-Gammon pointed out, Danny Rose is really a winger. Perhaps better convert him into a midfield role and sell Townsend, who is very seldom selected nowadays. One of the obvious problems of Pochetino's style is that it asks an awful lot from the fullbacks. Also Eriksens covering capability is a myth So not all down to Rose
On strength in depth this is so true, since we do not have the players to continue the same combination of aggression, quality and style when we have to rest some of our top performers. Eriksen was tired as was Mason on the night so with those two going of we lost some balance. Especially with Paulinho coming in to pair up with Bentaleb.
I think it is spot on.
Rose has overall been great this season. My concerns is that his performances are improving at the top end but does not seem to raise his bottom end game and therefore goes on to have some nightmares occasionally.
