He is getting a free ride from a lot of fans. We have served up some of the worst football we have seen In years this season. We have just lost to a team that hasn't won away in the league this season yet so few are asking why. We let pool dominate from the start which is criminal.
I am not asking for him to be sacked and some will probably call me entitled because I've dared to question him but this surely can't go on for much longer. We are shit to watch, allow teams to do what they want to do for at least the first Wouldn’t say it’s a free ride, I think some can see the circumstances
It's clear we're conserving energy in the first half of matches. I know how frustrated everyone is, but it has to be put into the context of the worst fixture congestion in the history of the sport, all thanks to FIFA's corruption.

Conte has made a judgment that he doesn't trust Sanchez, Gil, Spence, or Sarr. Lucas, Skipp, and Doherty have all been returning from long-term injuries and Conte evidently does not think their form is at PL/CL level. Kulu and Richarlison have been unavailable for weeks. Bissouma took months to come to grips with Conte's setup.

Add it all up and it has meant that we haven't rotated enough to have the legs to play at full intensity for 180 minutes per week.

Conte is not above criticism. I personally think Doherty has shown better form than he's been given credit for, and Gil probably deserved to take more minutes off of our other attacker's legs. Obviously there has been much discussion about Spence. On the whole, however, you can see his reasoning for every player who has found himself on the fringes.

What Conte needs is patience and backing. He's proven beyond any doubt that he can produce excellent football, but he needs better options in a few key positions.
Won’t be a more on point post for a while ?

Seriously how much longer will fans keep taking this?

But if we sack him absolutely nothing will change with this team. It's about time we stuck with a manager and backed him.

I'd like to see how we play with a CB of equal quality to Romero and Lenglet and a RWB that isn't completely fucking useless in 80% of the pitch.

Until then, and given how close we are to January, I'll hold my criticisms.

Completely get where your coming from and your frustration mate but it’s all part of a process though and the lack of quality of players and our injuries up front are seriously effecting how we play.

But yes the recent performances and tactics have been a bit too passive and not a good watch however I don’t think it’s a simple situation to say it’s all contes fault or ‘how long can this go on etc’ it’s a journey which will get better with more signings and time for conte just like with klopp and arteta when they were give time

We’re getting booed every home game no matter what the result is. I’d hardly say that’s a free ride.

We are about 5 signings away from having a squad with very few quality gaps, right now there are too many holes still and when you add an injury crisis to that as well as playing 2 games a week in a congested fixture list then it’s hard going.

What has he done to prove we'd want him long term?

He should be proving that to the club
Oh blimey, if you can't see what he's done since he arrived, I really don't know what to say to you?!

You seem fairly set that he's not the right man for you, which is fine, horses for courses but don't pretend that there haven't been any improvements since he's come in.

Yeah, nobody likes most of our first half performances so far this season but there are many contributing factors that can be levelled at that.

Sacking a manager while we’re in 4th and in the last 16 of CL would be madder than sacking one before a cup final.

Our fans are so confusing. We have countless injuries what do people want. It was a game of inches today things didn’t go our way. We played very well second half, Kulu is back and lot of of positives to take.

Conte can’t be blamed for individual errors and poor refereeing decisions.

Although I still think we were too meek in the first half, the game plan was somewhat effective and we deserved to go in level at the break and we were clearly the better side after half time.

Kulu’s impact was immediate. Kane, Perisic, Bissouma, Bentancur had good performances. Think we’ll be quite good after WC and January. Trying to be more positive

Main reason I think I'm so hopeful is that this team is so , so easy to improve.

A top RWB and CB literally improve this team a gigantic amount.

Openly criticised Conte during the season where I felt it was warranted, today isn't one of those days imo. There was next to nothing Conte could have done differently in terms of who started (343 wouldn't have helped, Thiago would have ran the game).

Interestingly I have looked back at last seasons results and I think I was guilty of thinking we had regressed massively. In truth there were numerous poor performances under Conte last year also (Wolves, Burnley x2, Brighton, Brentford, etc). This point may seem like I am digging Conte out but it is more to highlight that whilst we are not playing well, we have not 'regressed' from peak Conte-ball. The truth is we have only seen it in patches, even the Leicester game last year looks exactly like how our current performances are playing out.

I have also gone back to watch and read Contes interviews and conferences, what others are saying is correct. Conte is managing expectations he has been honest all along. Whilst we achieved CL last year ot was not all swashbuckling football, even though there were some exceptional performances (City, Leeds, Arsenal, Norwich, Everton). The point I'm making is we are still inconsistent and whilst we have recruited 4 good options in the summer, there are still too many obvious gaps in our side.

He needs transfer windows to change our squad. Until they have happened I don't think we can expect too much to change. That being said, he needs to address our starts to games, we cannot keep giving up leads like we are currently. We do need better, technically sound players to help this but Conte needs to drastically change this ready for the second half of the season.

I'm not saying we shouldn't buy another player or two.
But a far more cost-effective solution would be to hire an absolute A-Grade mind specialist to work with the existing players.
You would save yourself £100-£200 million over the next year or two.
Plus, the squad would become a series asset. When you buy a top player, you're really buying their confident mind and bullet-proof belief system.
So why not cultivate that at Hotspur Way?
It's a separate skillset to Conte's and only his ego/sense of identity would stand in the way of such a move.
The top teams in the US now have mind specialists. The sporting world is now so competitive, and well-drilled sides aren't enough for ongoing success.

Being in the industry, the person I would highly recommend is Peter Crone - The Mind Architect.
He works with many US sports stars, film stars, CEO's, politicians etc. And I know he's got a few UK sports teams wanting his services.
And rather than heckle my post (which I'm sure the uninitiated will continue to do so) why not check out his work?

There are numerous podcasts featuring Peter Crone - including this excellent interview by rugby player Jonny Wilkinson, all about sport (and life).

And if you dive down the rabbit hole with a few of his other podcasts, your life will shift quite dramatically, just through seeing life through a different set of lenses.
Enjoy.

yep. I'm seeing things I like that would be massively improved and consisten by adding quality.

my reservation is do we have means to do that?

Give the guy the players he needs and we will be a very good side. I’m sick and tired of watching the same players make the same mistakes time and time again.

Dier, Davies, Lloris, Emerson, Sessegnon all need upgrading. That’s 5 of our first team today; and then add the fact we had no fully fit attacking options to start.

We were by far and away the better team in that second half and if it hadn’t been for a ridiculous bit of defending by Dier and the officials being poor we would have won that game.
We need someone who can do magic without the players that he needs just like poch. Unfortunately at tottenham the manager can't get all the players that he want.

We should have the means.

Ally Gold reported this week that we have £50m of the capital injection left to spend, as well as the CL money. There have been estimates that put our CL earnings somewhere in the region of £80m.

Conte is openly demanding investment in January and I see no reason why the club should not be able to deliver.

Poch changed a whole lot of the squad he inherited though so your point doesn’t ring true?
