All this says to me is we are 💯 in a fight with Villa for 4th and not that we were really ever in one but we are categorically not in a title race this season.

We’ve had more of our players back recently, only really missing Sonny and Bissouma but our performances haven’t been great. That to me says our squad depth is still a good 3-4 players off where it needs to be, we need an upgrade on Skipp & PEH and at least 1 more top attacking option to upgrade in Gil or ideally a top class RW of real quality who can start over Kulu & Johnson. When we have those and a 4th CB then games like this today we can kill off 3-1 but having to bring on Skipp & Gil I knew we’d end up conceding.

I think it just shows where we are with our development. We are still 4/5 short of a full squad and it shows when making subs later in the game.

We have to invest heavily in the forward line in the summer. The way we play means we are always going to give away chances and it's hard to control games through midfield when we want to transition so quickly every time we gain possesion, so we have to have brilliant attackers. Without Sonny, we look impotent from the wing forward areas. We've got speed, but limited technical ability in Werner and Johnson and technical ability, but no real speed from Gil and Deki. Neto would be nice.

I think we'll be better once Biss and Lo Celso are back and Bentancur gets fully fit (but that might not be this season.) But we play so quickly through midfield, that we are never going to control games in the way often did in Jol, Redknapp and Poch era's. We are actually surprisingly similar to Conte era in terms of controlling games, despite the very different philosophies. Ange and Conte both have very stressful styles of football to watch. Obviously Ange is much more of "Tottenham" kind of guy and it's all about attacking from the moment we get the ball, but my word is it stressful viewing at times!

Didn't kill em' off, and it was always gonna come back and bite us. Awful, lazy FK given away, and the most dangerous they looked all game was from set pieces, and we gift them one at the death FFS!

Time will tell whether it was 2pts dropped or a point gained, but so fucking frustrating though.

We were controlling their attacks with a high line and then inexplicably he brings on a 3rd CB drop deep and invite the pressure that ends up with their shit leveler.
Yep - did it Wednesday night as well - looked to me like we were trying to protect a lead - which I don't have a problem with unless you are fronting up in the media claiming we are always going to "have a go mate".

It’s an absolute travesty that South Korea have gone through. We need Son back so bad

Can only think of one other chance apart from the goal so clearly not good enough

Richy had a close range effort saved well. Maddison had the half volley from outside the box, saved well. Werner was played in and got one on one (though was that the one where he was offside eventually?).

We let them control the tempo of the game, and gave away too many soft free kicks in dangerous areas.

Disappointing, however if we can win our next 2 home games, then its been a decent last few games.

Why didn't werner attack the ball from Johnson instead of waiting. It felt like he didn't want the chance to miss and if that is true then that's a huge concern
It was the same problem at Chelsea, no confidence in shooting when on goal.
