It’s effective at times to be fair. Not pretty on the eye but they deserved a draw imo, we never felt comfortable today for much of the game.

Dyche teams never easy to play against.

A bit lucky with their 2nd goal, Romero headed into the path of Braithwait.

Oh well we are still building this season although those points lost could be crucial in our quest for 4th against Villa.
Yeah, they are not easy to play against. But then you have to use your brain and not give away stupid free kicks like Deki did. I'm swedish just like him, but he deserves the bench. So incredibly stupid to give that away. I'm fuming. Just track him down and we would probably have 3 points instead of 1.

Why didn't werner attack the ball from Johnson instead of waiting. It felt like he didn't want the chance to miss and if that is true then that's a huge concern

We were controlling their attacks with a high line and then inexplicably he brings on a 3rd CB drop deep and invite the pressure that ends up with their shit leveler.

We had such a short rest period and so many players playing 90 minutes of both games. At the same time, we do not seem to be able to control the game for long periods. Our pressing is not good so when we lose the ball we inevitably end up going back to our own box. Hojbjerg was abysmal at times today and Bentancur worse, the engine room needs addressing.

look this is how teams have to play against us, just clatter the living shit out of us, refs too scared to protect anyone these days as they just want to stay out of controversies and don't let us get into flow.

I get it, but man oh man we need sonny back ASAP.

We need to rise to it though and I felt like we really failed with that today.

Honestly think we need that fit and performing trio of Bissouma, Sarr and Maddison back ASAP.

Missing our best player as well
This is no excuse for how bad our midfield was though, we had no press and we never won a duel/Second ball. looked very Leggy.
Everton was able to boss us all game in energy, we should be much better there.

Baffling from Ange. Every time we have PEH, Skipp, Gil on the pitch we end up retreating, given their set piece reliance this amounted to really poor game management.

Gutted for Richarlison, but apart from his finishing we didn’t create enough to deserve more did we?

The scariest thing about this result for me is how poor Bentancur was and additionally how Kulusevski looked lost.

I do think people have skewed judgement of how tough Everton are to play against as well, without the deduction they would be 11th right now.

I think we’re expecting bottom three quality but their quality level is higher than that, they’re in a relegation battle mostly because of the deduction.

Apologies if that sounds like I’m making excuses, I’m not trying to, I still feel we didn’t do enough ourselves to get the win, but this isn’t a bottom of the table fodder team we’ve just played away, it’s a solid mid table one who play a tricky style to combat.

I still don’t agree with your standby that we were ‘poor in every department’. If that was the case we would’ve lost 4-0.
Football doesn’t work like that. Everton had plenty of chances to win that game and most of them were due to our own sloppiness

Let’s assess the departments shall we.

Goalie - weak, at fault for their goal.
Defenders - Sloppy and poor in possession, completely failed to get to grips with their pressing. Individually VDV did well, and Udogie put a good ball on for the goal, but their overall play wasn’t good enough.

Midfield - Bentancur and Højbjerg were awful. Sarr did ok, Skipp fairly anonymous. Maddison good in attack, non existent otherwise.

Forwards - Richy did well, Werner, Johnson’s and Kulusevski all poor.

I count that as poor in every department. Sloppy, lazy passes, poorly implemented press, and just generally playing like suckers again.

Wasn’t great from Vic today I’m afraid, great shot keeper but there’s a question mark about him dominating the box. He’s too rooted to that goal line.
Nonsense. Plenty of players to blame ahead of Vic. It’s very hard when the threshold for protecting keepers has drastically dropped over the past few weeks and your knocked off balance when jumping. Not much he could do. He was deliberately targeted. We should have adjusted and protected him.

Can only think of one other chance apart from the goal so clearly not good enough

Can't be over critical at all with richy but he had a more than decent chance to make it 1-3
No u can't he was our best player again, never stopped running, if our midfield had his Energy we would have won this 4-0 today

Poor game in general lit up by two lovely Richy finishes. The goals we conceded were text book Dyche and both poor goals to giveaway. Meh in general after that 🤷🏻‍♂️

We didnt play well but at what point do we start asking questions about VAR and the officiating in our matches since the Liverpool game? Todays was a clear and obvious rugby tackle on VDV not given as a pen or even checked, another foul on Vicario and another goal allowed to stand. We have had no protection from refs with teams kicking our players to pieces every week. Ive never known it this bad week after week.
Think a foul against vicario would be soft, but couldn’t understand the VDV one
