The new manager will certainly take it seriously
to check out the squad
and see what he has taken on.
We're in it
so let's win it

innit!

I have no problem us being part of this. Lets give it to the kids and squad players we need a completely fresh start and this competition gives game time to players who otherwise won't be playing.

If we get to the later stages and draw a tidy side then of course play some of the more experienced players but I don't think it's a bad thing. We are not the same team we were 3 years ago let's give it a go we are not going to win a title even without European football this is a chance for other players to get some game time.

Key players shouldn't take part in a minute of this until the round of 16.

During the group stages use a mix of 5/6 young players and 5/6 first team squad players who need confidence/fitness.

My real worry about this is that it's going to prevent us from properly culling our squad for next season. With only domestic football we could have really trimmed things but with this we're going to need almost a full second XI.

Winks, Sissoko, Dier etc still all need to go.

Cant really turn our noses up at this considering we were knocked out of europas by zagreb, some decent teams as well, not all farmers lol (Feyenoord, Union Berlin, Villareal (if they lose Europa final), PAOK, AEK, Basel, Trabzonspor) and mostly likely Roma, Copenhagen, Rennes

If Mason goes back to the academy, I would go as far as just letting him and our kids use this for experience.

This is the equivalent of the papa johns trophy and our first team should be nowhere near it.
You want Mason managing our kids? Jeez I don't

While I always want the club to finish as high up the table as possible, I sincerely doubt our players’ desire to compete in this competition. It’s a fucking joke.

Despite both being UEFA competitions, the 2021 Euro Finals will be held on July 11th and the first Qualifying Round fixture for the UEFA Conference League is on July 8th. The Copa America finals are July 10th.

Many of our players will have no preseason — surely we’ll mostly be sending the U23s to compete in the Qualifying fixtures

I think I saw earlier that we enter at the play-off stage, which is around mid-August.

Missed that. Thank mate.

I know there are some financial benefits (I.e match day revenue) but I still think most of our boys would rather not play in Europe at all than compete in this joke of a competition. We cannot let it affect our league position. Cannot believe that winning this competition only gets you a ticket to the Europa League, which already is a competition we shouldn’t be aiming for. Waste of time.

Why? By all accounts he was doing well at the academy, yes his inexperience has shown in the games he’s been in charge of the first team, but he’s done as well, if not better than his vastly experienced predecessor, and has won more games than he’s lost.

I would take winning a tin pot cup at the moment.
