Fucking stupid rebranding imvho. Overly complex and actually further removes any gravitas the competition might have one had. REALLY having to explain itself.

Poor.

Are you REALLY that upset by this?

Great draw, Gills striker Rory Donnelly used to play for my local club here in Belfast (Cliftonville) would be great to see him get a run out at the Lane.

Great opportunity to give some of the young guys a game, but we need to mix youth and first teamers. They'll benefit most from playing with senior players, rather than just chucking in all the young guys.

I'd 100% go with the youth/emerging talent here. And stick with them all the way through (if we stay in of course). This should be no distraction to the two main comps in any way shape or form.

I do include those coming back from injury/lay offs in the above though

yep was there myself, 3-1 after going 1-0 down if i remember rightly, should of beat Liverpool in the final that season (Steve Arichibald missed an open goal:cry:)
We beat the Gills 4-2. That was in season 1982/83. The Final against Liverpool was the previous season.

What about squad players, why not give them a game also to keep match fitness up?

I am all for throwing youth players in also, but we we need the youth to play with some of the senior squad to learn and develop more.

as a Tottenham fan I would like us to win a cup, and to be totally realistic that will either be the EFL or FA Cup.

yes we have had a favorable draw in the CL, so should hopefully avoid dropping in to the EL, but getting past the QF of the CL would be amazing, get to the Final would need a lot of luck in the draws, and an off day for the many big clubs involved. we have more chance of winning the Premier League

“For me, they are not kids or boys, they are players,” the Tottenham manager told Ham&High Sport. “To show and to prove that they can compete and have the quality to stay in the first team, it is the same to play against Gillingham at White Hart Lane and against Liverpool at Anfield. They need to show [what they can do].

“We believe in them and if my team is the same as against Gillingham or there are some changes, they need to prove they have quality. You know, always the big, big players start their careers [somewhere] and they need to make their debut sometimes in a difficult place like Anfield.

“We are involved in the Champions League and [Liverpool] are not involved in European competition so it’s a good opportunity for our players who don’t play too much, or the younger players, to build their reputation and build their career and confidence for the future.”

Looks like we'll see a similar type team against Liverpool. Probably get GKN his first start as well.

Good.

To beat a full strength Liverpool at anfield we'd have to go full strength and play close to man city level which is just gonna knacker us out for the league and CL and risk key injury

It's unfortunate but this particular cup isn't super low priority for this particular version of Tottenham
