The EFL season kicks off last week of July in this weirdest of seasons.

And it's all kicked off on Talksport with Birmingham's prospective new owner who sounds like a man I wouldn't trust to run a deli.

They can't actually let this lunatic buy Birmingham, right?

Of course him and David Sullivan are buddies though

Go read Bassini wiki it’s astonishing he could be let anywhere near a football club. Bloke is completely unhinged. Jordan posted a threatening text last night I think he’s actually quite rattled by it. Sort of geezer that probably knows some nasty sorts. And if I woke up one morning to find out he’d hired someone to sort out Jordan I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest.

This will mean nothing to a lot of you, but it would be like WHL being named after sponsors then going back to what it should always be.

The Broadfield Stadium is back, even for a little bit. Crawley and Spurs both doing good things this summer. Never been so excited for both clubs' upcoming seasons.

New owners seem to be having a good impact

Bassini
  • 2007: declared bankrupt
  • Nov 2012: announced that the £1.5m he owed to Watford for 'cash advances' was unlikely to be repaid
  • March 2013: found guilty of misconduct and dishonesty over financial dealings on behalf of Watford and banned from being involved in a position of authority with any Football League club for three years
  • July 2013: The High Court ordered his company Watford Leisure Limited be placed in liquidation
  • March 2014: loses a High Court case against former Watford directors and ordered to pay them £3.5m
  • June 2014: declared bankrupt again
  • April 2019: his takeover of Bolton collapses after a repeated failure to provide proof of funds to the Football League
How the fuck is this man allowed to own a football club?

Bassini's out at Birmingham. A consortium led by Maxi Lopez has taken over the club.

Guess that rules out Icardi ever playing for Birmingham.

There's a shock for you. He's the reason the Pozzo's get a bit more leeway at Watford when they sack their third manager of the season because the fans remember what came before. I'd worry if my club was trying to sell him a season ticket, let alone the whole lot.

League Two looks wide open this season. Northampton, Mansfield, Bradford, Salford, Wimbledon, Swindon, Doncaster, Stockport and Orient all have good claims for playoff contention.

Not sure if Burnley are entertaining or I feel so starved of football for some reason that I'd even enjoy the dyche Burnley.
