I am from a country where Football is not particularly popular and have no personal affiliation with London.

I played football, and had the typical big clubs thrown in my face by the front runners who loved United, Arsenal, Liverpool. But, I suppose being somewhat of a contrarian I knew I wanted to be different.

So, I more or less had free reign to pick which side I wanted to follow (I know right why did I curse myself with spurs?) This was in the mid 000s when I was entering my teenage years. Carrick, Modric, Van Der Vart, Bale, Keane and co drew me to the club. It was always exciting and I never knew what Tottenham were going to serve up. But I knew it was going to be fun and loved it.

So I knew Tottenham was my club.

I am curious as to your experiences ? I know the vast majority probably either due to geography or family - inherited spurs. But would love to hear why you chose Tottenham if not?

Like heart disease Tottenham runs in the family.

I like to think I got a primer early in how to deal with disappointment compared to a lot of my friends.

I had a liverscum candy silver away kit then i saw the 1991 FA Cup final and fell in love with Spurs... so I ditched Liverscum and turned to glory hunting... erm... didnt realise that would be a real bad choice...

My dad chose them in the 60’s. He made me choose them in 1984. I’ve seen us win 3 (!)cups since then. Thanks dad.

My dad wasn't into football but I inherited Spurs from my uncle.
I've now passed the curse onto my two boys but my daughter has chosen West fucking Ham because of her mother, the cow! ?

Bloodline runs through the dad to the son anyway. It’s been that way since BC.

Oh well - at least you won't have to help to buy her house when she's old enough; just cough up a couple of grand for a second hand caravan

My family are half Manchester United, half Glasgow Rangers.

Dad is a season ticket holder at Ibrox, my mum at Old Trafford.

I’m the only one who supports Spurs.
