My PC is hooked up to the TV with a simple s-video cable. I don't have a satellite anymore, every single bit of TV I watch is downloaded then played on the computer. The quality is ok, not perfect but fine for me.

For live (football) streaming, it depends on the stream. Usually it's very watchable, and better than nothing at all (also better than watching on a laptop with a fractionally better image, but much smaller screen)

its on star sports defo too, shame the audio sync is slightly off bos the video stream is great.
