Dele Alli looks to have talked his way out of a four match FIFA ban after his middle-finger gesture which could have seen him miss the first two games of the World Cup in Russia next summer.

Doesn't seem to have learned anything from his previous indiscretions, in particular, that he is always on camera. Needs to wise up, but what's new?

Talk about overreaction I use to work nights in an area were the newspaper sports writers used to meet in the all night pubs and café;s
it would make even the most hard nose person blush.
These same pundits are giving dele grief for what?making a hand gesture to a pal dear me how awful how terrible and to say children were watching therefore you must be squeaky clean. What utter crap if you have ever been on a bus with the little innocents will know where I am coming from.
I believe this is a witchunt conducted by newspaper lowlife reporters who are acting as tho they have never did such an action as I say lowlife red top pundits.
Also in fun I have used one or two finger gestures to my friends and sons many a time it was taken as it was meant you know fun or banter
Don't listen to these muck rakers in the media as things like the dele action are the only way that they can make there name heard tossers all

It's clear it wasn't intended at the ref but he's naive to think that such an action (done numerous times) won't be picked up by the media and blown into a scandal. Needs to be more mature than that.

Funny how a middle finger salute at a team-mate is blown up to be a big deal by the media, but every single weekend players are going up to refs, calling them every name under the sun, and walking away muttering obscenities that are all caught on camera or can be overheard from in the crowd, yet nothing is mentioned about it...

If it was directed at the ref then it should be dealt with. It seems it isn't do no big deal. If it is a big deal, why stop there, spitting is not nice, snot blowing. Lineker poos his pants and he's a hero.

There are so few proper "sports writers" capable of orignal thinking, so the media jump at the chance to focus on trivia like this. It allows the reporters to submit the requisite number of column inches without actually providing any insight into the football match itself.

This entire thing is a total farce. A very boring example of what a bunch of tossers the footballing authorities really are. Clearly, they have nothing better to do with their lives. It should have been blatantly obvious (even to them) that Dele wasn't aiming his middle finger salute at the referee.

As Joe Hart said, if that was the only thing worth highlighting from the match, things must be looking up.

It's precisely because of the over reaction it will cause, that Dele needs to wise up and stop doing stupid things. Everything he does will be put under the microscope, and those with an agenda will use it as a stick to beat him with.

so dele is to be under fifa instructions
A big up to all the red tops whose reporters dont swear or do rude gestures

A big cheer for the sky pundits who were squeaky clean thru their career

For myself i hope he gets banned and can concentrate on spurs

Still the one good thing the media written and tv for once achieved what they aimed for dear god you would think he had killed the pope

Clearly, the corrupt suits at FIFA have nothing better to do with their time than try to get Dele banned for two of the three games we'll be playing in Russia next year.

I have to say also, that it would have helped Dele's cause greatly if Kyle Walker came out and confirmed the gesture was aimed at him and not the referee, but sadly, I'm not aware he has done this.

FIFA are an embarrassment to world football.
