Dele is contributing in the final third so let's enjoy it while it lasts.
I have no clue how long this would continue or whether he can do it against better teams...we will see when it comes

What the fuck does this even mean? He was signed whilst Poch was manager, and has only played under him and Mourinho prior to Mason taking over.

You've based this solely on his experience with a manager who clearly treated him unfairly, and you're assuming he will do the same under every future manager.

It's lazy thinking. Really fucking lazy thinking.

Jose didn't treat him unfairly ffs. Alli being dropped from the team was long long long overdue. Jose made a few mistakes but one of the things he did right was bombing Alli out of the side.

Yes I am assuming he will do the same under every manager. He has literally been poor for longer than he's been good at Spurs now. We are looking at 3 and a half years of poor performances, he plays well for one or two games and people start waxing lyrical. Well done for today but I don't forsee a renaissance for him, he's just having a small uptick because we booted Jose. The same happened when Poch was sacked remember? He's a guy who only bothers when he feels like it.

There is no doubting he has some ability, but he's not the future of Spurs at all and we need to move on from him. Sell him to PSG (we'd be so lucky) or Everton.

Watching the Dele post match interview on the OS, I am a little sad for him as he mentions his teammates going to the Euro's obviously without Dele.
Shame his form has been lost for a long while, perhaps he will come back for the the WC in a couple of years.

Southgate likes him. A good last week for him with a goal and couple of assists and you never know. We’ve an abundance of players who can play in that position though so I suspect it is a little too late.

I think he has next to no chance. Others in that position have been playing consistently well all season. He comes in and plays ok in two almost dead rubber games against teams on the beach and he gets called up? No way.

For example Lingard is way ahead of him and even he faces a battle to get in.

Yep, thats why I said its a little too late.

Edit: managers have favourites though, let's remember that.

Not been a fan of Alli for the last 3 years. Been living of the Dele hype. It was a nothing game for Wolves but you can only play what you are up against. But to be fair he had a reasonable game yesterday and showed what he can do when he puts in the effort. I would love the old Alli back but the jury is still out for me.

Played well.
He did. He knits things together nicely and causes the opponents problems. Its no coincidence that when we were at our best under peak Poch he was a guaranteed starter week in week out. Get him, fit, firing and motivated and playing in n.o10 position in a style where we keep a lot of the ball and CB's look for his runs beyond the striker he will get 10-15 goals a season easily, top top talent and was badly managed by Jose.

Haven't both Jose and poch commented on his attitude? Not being focused on the pitch ect?
I think even Dele himself has said something about a lack of focus at times. Hopefully he can get himself back to where he was before.

Whats has he scored 50 goals in his Spurs career and in a couple of games got as many assists as Ndombele and Lo Celso have all season Some luxury player is Dele. The side has missed his ability all season he scores goals makes goals has excellent movement and people are happy for him to be sold. Madness

Even an out of form according to some and with a few injuries for the last two years has scored 13 goals in 50 games. Have we missed that this season of course we have. You can't afford to lose class players who do things in the part of the field where its most difficult.

There are certain players in our squad that are given much less leeway than other players. It doesn't matter how well they play now, it will be admitted through gritted teeth and caveated to hell and back.

Besides, you even have some so called fans thinking we should sell Kane as "he deserves it". Fuck me sideways. Thank god they are not in charge!

I think he's been so much better in the last handful of games than he's been for most of the previous 2 years. He's put in a very decent shift whenever called upon, he's been prepared to drop deep and look for the ball (which could well be down to instructions), he's shown more maturity and less petulance and has made some significant contributions in our attacking play. He hasn't been obsessively trying to nutmeg every player he comes up against, but has shown those skills at completely appropriate times. If he can build on this he will once again be a very valuable part of the team, and this comes from someone who would have happily sold him for most of the past 2 seasons. He's a unique player, and for me the conundrum was always that we sacrificed some midfield stability to accomodate him, but if he's prepared to cover some of the holes in midfield as well as be an attacking option, we'll have a potent player back in the fold.

imo not signing a playmaker to replace eriksen more or less affected dele's development when he is played as a 10. he is not a playmaker who can dedicate and control but his best attribute is his off the ball movement and the quick and short passes with kane and son around opponent's box

Majority of those goals came 5 and 6 years ago, how much do you want to cling on to a player whose best seasons were so long ago.

Three and a half years of crap performances, let that sink in. Yes I am happy for him to be sold, I don't rate him. Is that clear enough?

Ryan Mason on Dele:

"Dele was my man of the match," Alli's former team-mate Mason said after the win over Wolves.

"I can't speak in terms of what Gareth [Southgate] is thinking. I don't know on that, but for me Dele was excellent.

"I don't really like singling out players but it's hard not to because I'm sure everyone felt it. He ran, he competed, he pressed, he created opportunities.

"I'm sure he's disappointed not to get a goal himself.

"It was an excellent number 10 performance. I'm really, really pleased."

As I've said many, many times with Dele. Fuck the haters.

Thought Dele had an OK game and it’s another step to him getting back to his best. Seeing Mason’s comments as purely giving Dele a bit of a confidence boost.

Dele's attitude and application yesterday was first class. However, I still do not think he's effective enough in anything other than playing off a main striker in a 4-4-1-1. There in lies the problem, hes simply not been consistently good enough to change how we play.

I think he can be effective to bring on when we are looking for some more attacking capability, but I see him as a squad player for the foreseeable future
