Same comment gets made every game and it hasn't been an issue for a while. Really simplistic thinking regarding pace led to people actually thinking trippier wasn't good enough for us and Aurier was a step up.

We don't even play a high line under Jose. And you nullify pace with tactics not by going faster.

Dier and Toby is a pairing that makes sense. Eric is actually quick for a CB, just doesn't have the ability to turn quickly which is why he looked slow in midfield.

Exactly. He isn't the quickest on the turn, but in a foot race is is absolutely no slouch. I'd say he's faster than the majority of CB's I the PL.

Also I think we'll see more possession today. In a possession based game I'd much rather have Dier on the ball than Sanchez.

18 month loan I think, so he'll be here next season too.

It isn't a myth though, he's painfully slow. He might do well at 100 meters but over 10-20 yards (which is what matters in football) he's extremely slow.
