Antonio Conte has given the green light to Tottenham listening to offers for Sergio Reguilon this summer. The left-back, 25, has been a mainstay of the team since joining from Real Madrid in 2020 and has 21 Premier League starts this season.

But a recruitment source has told Football Insider that Conte is not totally convinced by Reguilon and believes the team need a better option at left wing-back next term.

Can't say I'm surprised tbh. I'd prefer to shift Sessegnon though, solely because he can't stay fit for 5 minutes. There's been a couple of suggestions on here for LWBs and I like the look of Kostic or Borna Sosa. I also think Dwight McNeil would be interesting. Won't be disappointed if Reggie stays though.

First few months Regui was at the club i thought he is the real deal and our LB for years. Hope he can turn it around again.

I am also rather in the replace Sess camp.

I'd love to support a club which biggest issue is Regulion being first choice LWB.
We're not that club yet though.

Both Sessegnon and Reguilon are good players, Sessegnon in my opinion has a more rounded game and is a better goal scorer, but Reguilon is more reliable not just in fitness, he seems to be more aware of what’s behind him when defending.

Neither is a good enough wingback for a side wanting CL football.

Good squad players, but nowhere near good enough for long term success.

I don't know about this being true but we all know the wingbacks are important to our game and that we need upgrades right and left so there's no surprise someone comes up with a story like that.

Both have scored 5 goals in just under 4 seasons of top-flight football, having played a similar number of games. I think it's fair to say that both of them are far better at getting into goal-scoring positions than finding the back of the net.

I think this is the one position where Conte needs carte blanche over transfers. So important to his system and we've started to see that in the last month or so.

Sessegnon has the potential and I root for him and want him to do well, the other guy just leaves me uninterested when he plays.

I'd like to see Harvey White given a go at LWB-will never happen of course.

I'd imagine its more that, other than Kane, Son, Kulu, Bentancur, Skipp, Dier, Romero and Lloris it'll be 'listen to offers' for just about the whole squad.

Are we not?
Apart from the rather dodgy source of this "news", we don't actually know what Conte's plans are for the squad.
Maybe he's looking for upgrades in both wingback spots, either side? It's an important role in his system, afterall.

If we are looking to build the squad as he sees fit, we should really be looking for upgrades everywhere.
We have very few players that I would class as "must keep".

Didn’t we ascertain what the New Twist is?

Don't think so.

I've got a feeling it's just the fact (reports) that there's supposedly now more interest than just the buy back that everyone was first concerned about from Real Madrid.

Barca & someone else I think? So maybe it's a slightly bigger chance of bringing in finances for someone who Conte deems more suited to what he wants?
