I think I am correct in saying that we are the only Premiership side who has it's goalkeeper as Captain. The question I would ask is can a player in that position effectively 'captain' the side during a match when perhaps things need to change quickly on the pitch ? Would it be better to have someone who can bark out instructions from midfield rather than a lone figure situated far from the action ?
Please understand that I am neither condoning or condemning this decision by Spurs but simply asking for your views and opinions on this. Lloris does appear a relatively quiet and unassuming character when interviewed but does he have another side to him during a game ?.
I really would appreciate some informative posts as to why you think a goalkeeper can effectively hold down such an important position or then again why he shouldn't.
I have no particular opinion either way so please don't have a pop at me but I have often wondered why no other team adopts the same tactic......?
