I genuinely hope we play a verity young side, and if we go out I really don't give a monkeys. We've got enough to concentrate on.

I hope we see plenty of changes to, and if we can give some of the youth a chance all the better.

Some will interpret that as weakening the side too much but I don't. Its been a hectic schedule and freshening up the side would be a shrewd move IMO. In any case we have a pretty big squad and some players need more competitive games, otherwise they'll be off the pace when required when injuries to the regulars occur.

We definitely need to utilise the squad here.

Burnley will be priotising their big League game at the weekend, they've defensive problems as well. A team with a fresh impetus, whatever its make up, should be enough to compete well on the night.

I wouldn't say I don't give a monkeys about this tournament. It's another potential piece of silverware, and gives us an opportunity to play squad players in competitive matches.

At this stage I wouldn't be playing many of the first team though.

Our squad is so big, complete rotation shouldn't be an issue

Lennon
Soldado
Adebayor
Capoue
Stambouli
Kaboul
Chriches
Vorm
Dier
Paulhino

10 internationals or former international players who barely play

This is a big match for me. The FA Cup will always be special to me and it's been way too long since I last saw us win it.

By the sounds of it several Burnley players have been taken ill and they'll likely play a weakened side.

We can rest a few players but I really hope we don't go overboard. Using the squad is not the same as playing a severely weakened side.

I think there are some fans who think this game is going to be a easy one, we do not have a good record at Burnley ( only 3 wins in the last 12 trips), its a hell of a place to go and we always have a difficult game there. They may not have their strongest side out but that is no reason to expect us to go their with a weakened side and win well.

Exactly.

All this talk of weakening the side too much, Jesus just look at that list.

In any case, freshening the team up after a very busy period probably strengthens the team if anything.

Eriksen and Kane should be on the bench for this IMO.

I agree but some players might not be available

Capoue - probably be sold this season
Adebayor - out of favour
Lennon - injured

Agreed.

Add to this the fact that we're a two-leg tie away from a final at Wembley, so I'd be reluctant to start too much of the first 11. That said, we have a deep squad and we should be able to put a lot of quality on the pitch even if we let most of our first 11 rest.

While it's true we have quite a bit on our plate atm, I'm fuggin sick of going out in the 3rd round. We have the squad capable of playing a strong XI while also resting some of the more vital players who played Thursday, and also including a youngster or two.

I don't mind who starts but I definitely don't want to see Eriksen or Kane starting. They need rested or we risk the possibility of them becoming burned out. Would love to see Yedlin involved in some capacity but that's never gonna happen.

Getting the coach out of Manchester at 5:30 ready for a proper cup tie on a frosty night in Burnley, no way do I want to see us go out with a wimper.

I agree with you, I think it will be a very hard game. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends in a draw.

Sounds like they might have to play a weakened side, but if we do, can everyone have much faith in players like chiriches, Kaboul, paulinho, capoue and adebayor or Soldado fancy playing away in burnley on a cold and wet Monday night. They are hardly players you want by your side in a nasty game.
