Meh. Don't really think we should pay what they want for him. Surprised if we're gonna get it done

If/when it does get done, I'll look forward to seeing him pull on the shirt, the only thing I can offer is I have always thought he has looked busy when I may have seen him play.

Definitely the least attractive of all the options we have, so it sounds like they've maybe gone tits up. Tallies with the stories that Coutinho has turned us down maybe, or that the Dybala deal is too difficult?

Hope he does well if he signs but he's the biggest risk in my onion.

Not seen much of Lo Celso but based on stats alone I would prefer Bruno Fernandes to come in

It would be ridiculous if we paid more for this guy than Lo Celso would have cost.
I don't get this love hate between the two players. I watched Lo Celso for Argentina in Copa and he did next to nothing but I still think Poch would make him a success for us. They look at a similar level to me but are totally different which will give us options.

Trust Poch

If GLC doesn’t come then it means the deal wasn’t doable. Unless Poch prefers BF, in which case I prefer BF

If his fee is similar to GLC, and if we could only afford one of them, then I’d rather we sign GLC.

Out of interest, why are so many of you against this singing? I guess I'm rather ill-informed but prior to our interest in him I was of the belief he was one of the hottest prospects in Europe, could someone tell me why it's otherwise? (Just looking for an informative response not digging anyone's opinion:whistle:)

Why? If we've chosen not to pay the price for GLC and spend at least that amount on BF, then surely that is an indicator of who Poch prefers? Levy isn't going to sign an alternative if he can buy Poch's target.

I do wonder if the GLC > BF views are slightly skewed because GLC rumours came up forst and he plays in La Liga rather than Portugal. If they swapped clubs perception might be different.

Fernandes has just had a season with terrific output, Sporting are understandably trying to capitalise on those figures with a big value, but I just don’t see anyone matching/beating what we have apparently already put on the table.
They run the risk of missing out here. Our window closes early, and the PL pay more. Once that shuts, nobody is coming close to that figure, which means they sell for significantly less, looking very foolish, or keep him. The latter is a risk, as he has publicly stated he wants to move.

I do wonder if our window finishing early, and also the known fact the PL is cash rich, actually hinders is in the main, but also helps us get deals over the line today/tomorrow specifically. If clubs don’t deal with us by tomorrow 5pm, their chances of extracting big fees is gone. They want to sell high, then wait out our window closing and buy low without the complication of English clubs coming in and inflating the prices.

Betis are in exactly the same boat with GLC. First team out of Betis and Sporting to cave in gets the sale, or at least that’s perhaps how Levy sees it. That’d be one down, one to go, with Coutinho and Dybala already agreed fee (loan fee) and just player terms to agree, which we did quickly enough with Ndombele, Lo Celso and Fernandes apparently.
