Ben Arfa I would loved us to have signed him.. flair players from Newcastle to Spurs use to be a way of life.

Waddle
Gasgoigne
Ginola

I think he could have given the fans a lift and especially as he has something to prove I think he would have been great for us.

Judging by some of the photos of him over the summer he's the one that could do with a lift. Out of bed/off the sofa/out of the bath etc.

No thanks, he does not have the attitude or commitment to be a player in a top team - which is a shame because he is very talented. A bit like Morrison, Taarabt, etc

Not a bad shout.

On his day he would be better than what we have.

The problem would be his attitude.

But could of been worth the risk.

Oh well.

You seem to have missed Jermaine Jenas off that list there....

He was loaned because he apparently didn't work hard enough (in training and in matches) and was "overweight". We would never ever buy him simply because he is the worst possible fit for Pochettino's system.

Fat, injury-prone and inconsistent. Anyway, enough about your mum.

Don't rate Ben Arfa, Hull are welcome to him.

All the people on here who rage that Townsend is greedy, they would have a nervous breakdown after 15 mins of watching this guy play.

I've just seen that Jonas of Valencia is now available as a free agent (that would be Soldado's ex strike partner).

He actually started his career as a LW so he would be ideal for the LWF role.

Even if it doesnt work out a free transfer would be little risk until a replacement comes in.

In fact looking at this list of Free Agents there is still some very good players available:

Victor Valdes,
Joseph Yobo
Jonas
Hugo Almeida
Diego Lugano

I guess we never replaced Tom Huddlestone's role in the cafeteria

He got fined for being fat, so I take it that isn't muscle

Showed flashes of brilliance for them but not consistently enough. The fact there wasn't much interest elsewhere shows nobody wants to take a gamble.

If Ramos didn't take the doughnut, crisps, sweets, chocolate, beer fridge & deep fryer section away from our canteen I'm sure Ben Arfa would have played for us for free
